I'm sure others are saying this, but just to make sure. This situation with trading being halted and the means to coordinate being shut down by Discord and other social media, is a perfect opportunity to educate people about the benefits of a decentralized social media and cryptocurrency platform like HIVE.
I'm just going to share some images circulating on Twitter to illustrate what's been happening for those who haven't been paying attention. I thought the one above was pretty funny.
The above is in reference to the Discord ban of Wallstreetbets due to their organized pumping of various stocks. They literally said it was because of hate speech. See below.
Apparently they have since reversed their decision to ban them, but this points to how vulnerable users are to the whims of politicians and big corporations and their legal departments when they want to make waves in something like financial markets. As we've seen, you could attack a network like HIVE, but from a centralized perspective, from my understanding all they'd really be able to mess with on such short notice is image and video hosting. Anyway, food for thought. Maybe these people would find benefit in organizing their investing group over here.
