🚀 I am Now a Witness on the Hive Blockchain – A New Chapter for Decentralisation
It is with great pride that I announce I have signed my first block on the Hive blockchain. This marks not only a personal milestone, but also a commitment to the network’s long-term health and decentralisation.
My direct contribution stands for more than just a technical achievement—it reflects eight years of community building on Hive, the upcoming hardfork 1.28.3, and the readiness to take full participation as a Witness.
🔢 First Signed Block
Every Witness remembers their first block — it’s the moment you go from running code to truly joining the chain.
For @rivalzzz.witness, that moment came with:
🧱 Block https://hivehub.dev/b/101080018
101080018

produced on 11.11.2025, 04:51:12 UTC.
That block represents not just data in a ledger, but the beginning of a continuous contribution to Hive’s stability and future. Each signed block from here on strengthens the chain, supports the network’s consensus, and contributes to Hive’s decentralisation — one signature at a time.
🕰 Eight Years on Hive - From Contributor to Witness
I have been active on the Hive blockchain ecosystem for over eight years writing, curating, exploring dApps, and building community. During this time I witnessed (and helped build) the evolution of Hive’s technology, governance and creative ecosystem.
Now, with the arrival of hardfork 1.28.3, the stage is set for the next leap: it is time to move from contributor to validator, from community member to Witness. I believe that with the software upgrade enabling new functionality and optimisations, this is the moment to step up and serve.
🧭 Why Become a Witness?
Serving as a Witness is both an honour and a responsibility. Here are some of the key reasons why I chose this path:
- Securing the network - Witnesses sign blocks, participate in consensus, and ensure the chain remains stable and censorship-resistant.
- Strengthening decentralisation - The more independent Witnesses there are, the less vulnerable the network is to centralised control or single-points-of-failure.
- Empowering community growth - Being a Witness means supporting the broader ecosystem of creators, dApps and users, not just running a node, but backing innovation.
- Long-term commitment - It is about sustaining infrastructure, staying online, contributing to roadmap discussions, and being available when the network needs reliability.
🌐 My Goals for Hive
1. More Decentralisation
I am dedicated to making Hive truly decentralised. By operating a reliable Witness node, I add another independent validator to the network. The goal: more nodes, more diversity, and a stronger network topology.
2. With louis.witness - Ensuring dApp Security
Under his alias @louis88, I will co-support not only block production but also the security of Hive’s application layer. This includes monitoring dApps, assisting with fault-tolerance and infrastructure resilience.
3. Continuing Travel Blogs
Writing remains an important part of my presence on Hive. My travel blogs not only reflect personal journeys, but also help showcase the global nature of Hive: creators from many countries, many backgrounds. I will keep publishing, exploring and connecting.
4. Actively Powering Up Hive
I will continue to actively power up my Hive stake, reinforcing my commitment. Powering up is a vote of confidence in the ecosystem, and a tangible way to back Hive’s future.
🔮 Looking Ahead to 2026
By 2026 I envision:
- A vibrant creator onboarding campaign: more travel bloggers, storytellers, developers, earning on Hive.
- Hive becoming a reference chain for fast, fee-free content & web3 social apps: embracing decentralisation, community, sovereignty.
- I plan to keep attend to Hive-related meetups and summits—both online and on-site (like HiveSummit and HiveFest side events).
The aim: to make Hive more accessible to newcomers and to create local clusters of passionate builders, writers, and witnesses.
🪶 rivalzzz.magi – Witness on Magi.eco Protocol
In addition to my Hive involvement, I also serve as a Witness under rivalzzz.magi on the Magi.eco protocol. This dual-role emphasises my broader commitment: cross-chain interoperability, sharing best practices, supporting decentralised infrastructure across ecosystems.
💬 Final Thoughts
Becoming a Witness is more than spinning up a server—it's a pledge to Hive’s future.
I invite you to join me on this journey: whether you power up, write a post, vote for a Witness, or simply engage.
Together we keep Hive strong, block by block.

Voted! All the best in the maintenance of the witness infrastructure :)
thanks and welcome to HIVE!
That's cool. We need more witnesses around the world to keep Hive running. I hope you get lots of support.
