RE: Free HIVE Social Kit

Wonderful graphics work here in this post. Thank you very much for making it available to us all, for enhancing the quality of our Hive content. 👍 🙂

Excellent admonition here @nateaguila ...

"By flaming a community member, we are shooting ourselves in the foot. For even if the post is nonsensical or foolish, there is another person with the seed of a great idea...and THAT idea will never see the light of day because of the FEAR to be publicly ridiculed or insulted. As a result, the potential for the blockchain becomes that much dimmer."

... as I could hardly agree more. "We" do ourselves harm when we don't allow freedom of expression. The "pack" mentality far too much on display at times "in here" is disturbing. "We" are all free to simply "move on," if and when we may come across content with which we may not agree.

Even better? If the post is well done and the "quality content" box can be easily checked, then appreciate the fact there will almost certainly be others who will find value in it, raising the overall value of our Hive blockchain. Isn't that the objective of us all?

Sort:

Yup, exactly.

Although I don't think people need to "walk away" when they read something with which they disagree. They just need to be CIVIL, haha.

Why can't we simply talk like civilized adults? Is it that hard? It IS possible to work through disagreements without firing off insults.

In fact, I'd go so far as to say it's a necessary part of the problem solving process. If people feel free to toss out ideas or try new things...and those ideas are met with mature and considerate feedback (not ridicule), then we are much more likely to progress the chain forward with our sense of unity intact.

It all boils down to what the ultimate objective is: an inflated Ego or a more successful Hive?

Agreed @nateaguila. Civil and respectful discourse. I wrote a post about it once ...

Far too little of it these days. And getting worse, rather than better. At least here in America ...
