Spot on with the data and macro reality here. Looking at the numbers, Bitcoin consistently sets higher cycle lows ($15.5K in 2022 up to current levels), while Hive has bled significantly below its previous bear market bottoms (~$0.042 vs. $0.25).
The structural inflation and forced 13-week power-down friction mean that holding Hive as a long-term speculative asset carries massive opportunity cost compared to BTC. Treating Hive as a social/application layer to create, earn "house money," and power down surplus earnings into Bitcoin is the most logical play for long-term value preservation.
My goodness the cope is crazy at this point. The glory days are over. I’ll always love the community we had and a tiny portion still here. But this is only for fun & entertainment. Hive token holders getting rich only worked for us who sold at the tops. I’ll never understand why I was only one selling at $3.00 in 2021 the 100K plus I got for a dime. Bought it back for .20 and sold that at .50 in early 2025. That was the move to make profit. Everybody who never sold a single hive of ever powered Down is underwater on all rewards compared to value at time earned. Literally today is the all time low ever, everything is underwater. The data debunks all this nonsense being claimed.
All that said even though I know I won’t gain anything I am here part time and knowing it’s just for fun. I have love for much of community. I just know hive is not in any form an investment. It’s a shit coin by all metrics. I’m not calling community that, I’m saying how it trades. This isn’t a down cycle, we crashed whole bitcoin went up 850% and we crashed 85% below our 2022 bottom of .25 cents when Bitcoin was 15K bottom same time. It’s just silly trying to seriously say hive is serious for speculative bet let alone comparing to bitcoin. Antwerp the action don’t lie. Nor does my power downs at the peak in 2021 & 2025. I’ll never understand why my friends here didn’t sell at least a portion to lock in profit. Anyway good luck on the bank getting DHF funding, don’t you know you gotta pay the whales a cut to get there votes? It’s a slush fund.
