The top 2 do have a decent amount of comments. The average is around 2 per post according to some data that sits in my head somewhere, it could have been supplied by @penguin-pablo.
On STEEM it's <2 comments per post. We do well here comparatively.

A lot have none, so that skews the average. Lots of bot comments too, but not too many across the ones I showed. Maybe Steem has less bots. Authors need to respond to comments too.
