Hello SPIers, It's done!
The BTC to HIVE ratio went over 200k for 1 BTC and I have converted 1 BTC into 202,479 HIVE.
I have been banging on about this for almost a year since the ratio was 70k HIVE to 1 BTC and we're finally here. I said back then it was just a waiting game. We've waited and it happened. I honestly thought that we would have done this trade toward the end of the year so this feels early.
I feel because it's early, we'll continue to see the BTC to HIVE ratio increase and 1 BTC in a few months could be worth 250-300k HIVE. This will be a bummer to watch but we cant know for sure so we stick to our plan and dont need to try and get fancy to squeeze extra value. Again I will tell you, it's a waiting game and the ratio of BTC to HIVE will drop to under 50k HIVE to 1 BTC toward the end of the bullrun when HIVE is mooning. We've made our move so now we wait again.
The best case from now is we sell the 200K for $2 each and get $400k and the worst case is we sell them at $1 each for $200k. Worst worst case would be to convert the HIVE back into BTC when the ratio drops to 100k and double our BTC. If all that fails, we've got 200k HIVE, haha. We really cant lose.
What are we doing with 200k HIVE?
It was actually just over 202k so 200k was powered up to @spi-store, 1500 HIVE was converted into USDT because we need more USDT to protect our ETH margin trade which is down alot since the market crapped itself a few hours back. There was around 800 HIVE extra and as a 1 off, I will add these into this week's dividends so expect 4x SPI dividends this week π€.
Also, the SPI token price will be more stable for the next 12-18 months as well.
100k HP has been delegated to @eds-vote
This is our own project so what's good for it is good for us. We'll get a bunch of EDS each week which we'll stack up. It would be nice to maybe consider creating a Beeswap pool for EDS someday and having a bunch of EDS stacked up would come in handy.100k HP has been delegated to @leo.voter
It pays 12% and LEO is fairly liquid. leo.voter does sometimes have problems and rarely backpays but as I said, the LEO token is fairly liquid and this will boost our weekly income and in turn weekly dividends.
I plan to start to powerdown the 200k HP around the end of Q1 2025 so we can have sitting liquid and ready to sell when it's time. We'll sell, and pull the trigger when either HIVE hits $2 are the BTC to HIVE ratio drops to under 1 BTC for 50k HIVE, whichever comes first.
Well, kinda done. We will have to buy back our BTC during the next bear cycle. I think it would be safe to assume we'll bag 1 BTC for under $100k sometime in 2027. To be honest we might get 2 BTC for $100k next bear cycle back that is a long time away. Now we wait for HIVE to moon, might take 18 months but it'll come.

Bitcoin will outperform, as I Hiver myself who loves Hive and holds good amount. I think this trade will go down as a bad move. 500K - 1 is likely in a few years
Long term, I agree with you. I think HIVE's upward potential at this stage of the cycle is higher than BTC's. My plan is to sell the HIVE into HBD and wait a year to buy the BTC back. I deffo want the BTC back π

By the way, how are you curating out of the SPI-STORE? Just curious so we can get our 8%-9%. On 200K, that is a nice amount over the course of the year.
Says in the post, 100k to eds-vote to stack EDS tokens and 100k to leo.voter to improve HIVE income and dividends. EDS pays out at just over 4% and leo.voter at 12%, this gives us an average of 8% split over both plus 3ish% HP inflation π
How did you trade? At stealthex it currently shows only 146K Hive for 1 BTC.
Binance. Stealthex is an AMA and 1 full BTC would prob cause massive slipage. If converting 0.1 BTC, you would get a much better rate. AMA's are ok for small amounts, exchanges for larger amounts cause you get spot price.
I like it, I hope it goes well because this is where I had some exposure to bitcoin.
It'll come back again and by the end of 2026, we'll have more BTC and you'll have exposure again but moar!

Wow, that's awesome! And even with this big buy Hive price is down today. I bet a lot of people are doing the opposite of what you did - converting Hive to BTC hoping to cash in after the halving.
Buy when there is blood on the streets they say. HIVE is already up 2 cents and rebounding. I ended up buying 1.5 BTC worth of HIVE, I did a 0.5 BTC trade with personal BTC so $100k of buying pressure. It took around 90 minutes to fill both orders, little nerve wrecking to be honest, lol.

First of all, fantastic job, so good to see this stage of the plan come to fruition.
I really like that when there's mayhem all around, spinvest goes sailing through putting its plan into action. I also like that we did a little better than anticipated and there is a lovely bonus for everyone this week to celebrate.

Oh yes, im not letting no blood on the street day stop us from getting our 200k HIVE. Making a little extra turned out to be lucky because ETH got wiped out with the rest of the market and our x5 ETH margin trade almost got wiped out as well. I did a $500 margin trade and put $500 more into reserves to stop from liquidation. The auto top ate up $400 of that $500 so we were lucky to beable to sell 1500 HIVE for an extra $500. It surely cant keep dropping. π€£
leo.voter is what is it plus we can sell off the LEO each week pretty easily without wrecking its price.
