The News

The 'battle' between red and blue continues with neither really breaking away. I have seen plenty of people pointing out issues with Hive. There is the DHF funding going to projects that may not benefit us much. There are issues with downvotes, but the scale of that may be exaggerated. I know there are various personal conflicts around that, but I am most definitely not involved. I do know that there are plenty of spam, impersonation and plagiarism cases that need to be dealt with.

Prices from @coingecko

Of course the low price is a concern, but I think that is partly down to Hive still being largely unknown. I am no expert on marketing, but I think it would help if people engaged more with other crypto projects and companies who do join us. The 'cryptosphere' is our best chance for what would still be early adopters as they will mostly understand the concepts of keys and tokens. I think we also have a lot of users who have less experience of those, but who still manage to use Hive on a daily basis. We need a wide range of content to appeal to a broad audience. I find plenty to enjoy and the social aspect is really important to me. As things stand you may be less inspired by the rewards, but then billions use other platforms whilst earning nothing. We need that critical mass of users so that everyone can find their community. We can start out in specific niches and build on that.

Friday Follows

  • @theycallmedan is one of the key players of Hive who is into building things. His latest is to crowdsource AI processing. I do not have the hardware to contribute, but there could be potential to earn from contributing.
  • The @mantequilla-soft team who work on 3speak and Snapie have added Hangouts that could replace some aspects of Discord and Twtr for audio discussions. @eddiespino has also posted about it.
  • Another function we have that may be underused is chat. There is one in @ecency and also one in @peakd. @asgarth just announced a new option for the latter. It is harder to fake an account on Hive so these can help to avoid getting conned.
  • It is good to see @killerwot back on Hive. He has a new band and he posts on other topics too.
  • @consciouscat and @new.things did an epic trip around Australia where they did some more parkrun events as well as meeting up with some Hivers.
  • @crimsonclad has represented Hive at events around the world. She is now asking for some funding in a proposal. That has provoked some discussion, but we can each make our own decisions on that. People should be aware that voting up the Return Proposal raises the threshold for getting funded.

There are lots more things going on around Hive and I cannot include them all here. I do re-blog posts that I think will be of interest. I recommending following communities that cover your interests so that you do not need to follow all the individuals who may post on a topic.

The End

I plan to generate a fresh #BritList over the weekend. I have done that every month for several years now and I have scripts that make it fairly simple for me. I have said that I do not have time to do regular lists for other countries, but I am prepared to help others get started on doing that themselves. I think it can help in connecting people and organising events.

I am always happy to answer questions so feel free to send them my way. I do not have all the answers, but then I am always learning from others.

Hello You! Thanks for the shoutout =) I was so glad that Brad found out about the Hive meetup in Adelaide, and we made a point of attending. Meeting this little crew, plus @riverflows in Victoria, were highlights for us on this trip. It's definitely made us want to make even more of an effort on future trips to meet up with fellow Hivers.

Thanks for all that you do, @steevc!

You are very welcome. Enjoy your travels.

It's great meeting hive people in person. They all seem interesting and real free thinkers. Hopefully things settle a bit world wide and we can meet a few more.
!BEER

I've met quite a few and they are generally wonderful. That looked like a cool trip you did.

!BEER

It was great until the fuel prices rose steeply

Did you know that <a href='https://dcity.io/cityyou can use BEER at dCity game to buy cards to rule the world.

i can't belive the blue has our same price

I suspect someone is propping it up for whatever reasons.

I try not to pay too much attention to the price these days. It doesn't make it move any, so it is kind of pointless.

Everything you said about the AI project being developed by the Hive whale is interesting. Regarding the price, it's true it's low, but very few people know about Hive. Someday it will go up, and using Hive isn't a rewarding experience.

I hope that Hive will always be rewarding in some way or another. It keeps me coming back anyway.

For me, being in Hive will always be exciting.

I love what the @mantequilla-soft team does! And I admire they manage to keep it DHF free. Great job!

They are doing a great job with some important tools. I think it's generally a great time for Hive users, apart from the price of course :)

It's a great time for us who intend to stick around ;) the competition is low and earning nice rewards is rather easy (if you count in Hive and not in USD).

AI? Looks like cool new apps comming.

Thanks for another great report, mate

!PIZZA

The low prices might seem discouraging, but as you pointed out, making connections in the larger crypto community might bring in more users.

Update: @steevc, I paid out 12.267 HIVE and 0.000 HBD to reward 12 comments in this discussion thread.

To be honest, I am also new to Hive and didn't know all the rules. Because of this, I am still facing some problems. I have now realized my mistakes, and my dear teacher @erikah helped me identify them. I hope the issues I am facing will be resolved soon.
My request to everyone: please learn the rules first before you start working; it will be better for your future. Especially, no one should ever work with copied content, even by mistake.

I am not getting involved in whatever issues you have with others. I hope that you can resolve them. When people try to cheat the Hive system they are usually found out.

Stop spreading lies and stop tagging me. I'm not interested in your lies.

This is the lie you have been writing in your posts, while you knew the photos are not taken by you but stolen from others. Now you call it mistake and expect people to feel sorry for you? How old are you? 3? You really think everyone is stupid here? Stop wasting everyone's time and grow up! Actions have consequences.
