I was interested to see on Hypestat that Hive.blog has some good local stats. Globally it ranks about 60,000, but in some places it does much better. 226th in Paraguay is great even if it's a small market. It looks like Steemit can only break the top 10k in a very few countries.

Peakd ranks a little lower, but it's doing well in Canada and New Zealand.

We need to work on improving those numbers. Steemit has had 4 years to build up recognition whilst Hive has only been around for a couple of months. We are doing well, but cannot afford to relax. If you have Steemit links on any profile pages then update them. Post links to good posts by yourself and others. Raise awareness.
I have loads of accounts I can give away and I expect others do too. We need to get those to people who can add value. I will delegate to those who show promise. We need to nurture the new accounts whilst they learn the ropes.
It is frustrating to have to start from scratch after promoting Steem for years, but we have a good product that many could benefit from. Steem is getting worse, so we have to show there is a better alternative.
Hive five!
Good to see India participating well. I have been personally trying to reply to some people in twitter who have potential to market it more, hopefully we will get more and more from India.
If it takes off in India it could be massive and change lives. How are restrictions in crypto?
Its allowed now. It was banned by the Reserve bank, but the apex court finally gave its verdict in the favor and there is no ban now.
Good to hear. A friend in India was wary of joining Steem before. Maybe he will have another look.
Steem or Hive or Both 😀 Old practices are hard to go 😁
Suprized I dont see Venezuela in the list
Steem is still doing well there. We should encourage people from there who use Hive.
Steem still does well there. We should support the good people from there who moved to Hive. It makes a big difference to them.
I agree with you on the fact that we need to keep moving forward. We need to gain some traction and kick this whole thing into gear. Especially so we can be ready for the next bull run. Whenever that happens!
Can anyone explain New Zealand or is it Chinese VPNs?
I really don't know. Not up on where VPNs operate. Can people in China still use them? Steemit had a lot of users there for a while, but they must have blocked it.
People can pretty much select VPNs in any country. I'm just surprised that the website is quite popular in New Zealand.
I assume people in China can still use them, but it's a little more difficult than using them elsewhere. Besides, China only really blocks political crimes. They don't care if you are scamming foreigners.
The main thing is that the Hive sites are gaining users.
Got any stats on how it's doing in the UK?
I also think people who are "anti-steem" should stop posting there, even if it isn't positive stuff. This is so that there aren't more transactions on the website. By posting there, it's actually helping the platform out which is ironic!
@pennsif used to maintain a list of UK Steemians. There were never that many of us and I know a few are inactive lately. I've signed up a load of people, but most don't use it. We need to get some sort of campaign going.
I have been baiting Steemit a bit over there and they flagged all my rewards away. I may cut down as I just don't have the time to mess around with it. Will be powered down in a few weeks.
I think there was a discord server for UK folks wasn't there? Don't know if that's still going. Is pennsif still active? Have seen him comment a bit on Steem but finding it difficult to keep on top of a lot of things right now to be honest!
I still have a ways to go with the powerdown but I'm just going to focus on keeping the music coming and try to share the positive vibes here with posts. Might have swayed another musician to get posting again on Hive but work in progress on that one.
We need to get the discord active again. Pennsif popped up again this week. We need more meetups when it's allowed.
There's so much potential for music on Hive. If we can get a few more artists and their fans on board we can build something cool.
Might be a while before we can do that again in the UK I feel! Digital meetups will probably be more likely!
I'd say the music side of things is massively untapped, it is such a good replacement for Facebook pages for musicians - followers actually see your posts for a start and fans and artists can reward each other for engagement and help grow with the artist.
Just posted a new list of UK Hivians last night. Looks like about two thirds moved over Steem to Hive.
Alas most of the remaining third seem to have left both chains altogether.
New Zealand is pretty doing well also in the rank
You forget to include that.
Hive will surely grow but it is our collective effort that will fasten it
I mentioned NZ for peakd :) Have to wonder why that does so well.
Congratulations @steevc! You have completed the following achievement on the Hive blockchain and have been rewarded with new badge(s) :
You can view your badges on your board and compare to others on the Ranking
