My 2nd week as a witness

in #hive2 days ago

So where to start ...

I raised in the ranks that is always good news , but why did i raise in the ranks ?

After the hardfork November 19th it was showing that people didn't upgrade their witness , lack of time or lack of intrest .

Some people might think that the updates are automaticly done , but ... no it needs to be done manually.

If you go to https://primersion.com/witnesses you will see this :

and type in your name without loging in , it will show you the witnesses you have voted for in my case this :

But it could also show something like this :

A gentle warning that you vote for inactive witness servers , in the last block column you can see when that witness created his last block , and in the version column it shows if the witness is running on the latest hardfork or not.

So because of people keeping an eye on their witness votes , they removed their votes from inactive witnesses , so that the inactive witness would drop places in the list , that was one way for me to gain my place in the ranks .

The other way was people that removed their vote from inactive witnesses and placed it on my witness , that was a win win for me :)

But if you look at this link : https://hive.arcange.eu/witnesses/

you see this :

All grey lines are inactive witness servers , some haven't completed a block for almost a year and are still voted for , some have even been inactive for a longer time then that.

Now we do have a hive power up day once every month , why not make a hive check your witness votes day to avoid that all these votes get lost.

Well that even got my cat thinking ...

So how big does a witness server need to be , well not that big at all you see that black box between my keyboard and my monitor , that is my witness server.

O , well i'll just keep curating manually , and keep hoping that people will actually check on their witness votes , and if they have spare votes i can only hope they vote for me .

I would love to reach the top 50 some how , still a long way to go .
and no you don't get rich from running a witness , you can see the earnings here : https://primersion.com/earnings

Mean while i'll just keep posting my photography and keep curating what other people post .

If you have any votes left , you could vote for my witness " stresskiller "here :

thanks, indeed you have stated it in a previous post.
Anyway, I voted for you!

Thank you , yes and it's also low power consumption due to mobile cpu +/- 18 - 25 watt

the high peaks are from my gaming computer :)

Congratulations

Your hard work is paying off, just as you described. I'm sure you'll continue to make admirable progress, and I congratulate you in advance.
You made me laugh with the cat photos, haha! Hugs!

thank you only time can tell where the limits of progression are.
