Hive: modernize & monetize your social media

in #hive3 years ago

The future of social media is here, but people are going to think I've gone all out batty for recommending Hive as a brand. I can hear it: "Hive is decentralized, why would Instoll waste its time promoting a brand it can't leech money out of??"

OK, first, there is always a way to leech money out of things even if they are decentralized. Has ANYONE been watching the crypto exchanges?? Alrighty then. Next, Instoll might be an experimental entity, but one topic seems to be emerging - privacy. I find myself increasingly interested in both privacy and internet freedom, ergo. . . Hive enables both those things. Or at least, that's how it seems so far.

And next, Instoll is recommending Hive because it is a social media economy where the data belongs to the users and because they back it with a blockchain, it becomes a self-moderating way of saying, "What you say will be remembered forever, so, own that!!" without having to do censorship.

In other words, with Hive, your data belongs to you. If you post it, it is immortalized in a blockchain, but it belongs to you. And later, that same blockchain can help you establish your ownership. That might be handy.

Add on top of that, your creativity gets monetized. No ads required. Ferp! Does Facebook or Twitter pay you for your content JUST because you created it? With Hive, if other people value your content, you get some crypto out of the deal. Nice.

So, what's the catch? The catch is simple . . . if customers want a product where THEY actually are the customer and THEIR data belongs to them, they should be willing to help the cause. And with a crypto-backed model, that's pretty easy. All customers have to do is buy some HIVE tokens and use them to power-up their account. Alternatively, customers can spend time curating the content (read stuff that interests them and upvote it, and other common social networky type things).

Is there another catch? Yes, this tech is newish. There's still a bit of a learning curve to it and there is no telling if this HIVE platform is the next Facebook or not, but one thing is for sure.... we won't have the next Facebook until we migrate to the next Facebook. I suppose you could just go back to Google Plus or Friendster. . . oh. . . snap . . . moving forward then! Where did those 200M people go? Give Hive a shot!

Are you interested? Good! Me too. There is a chance I will post some tutorials over on Shop'n'Awe, so if you haven't created an account over there. . . get on our mailing list :-)

What is Shop'n'Awe?. . . hello. . .it's the next Amazon. I'm comin' for yah, Bezos! :-)

Hive is the next Facebook. Shop'n'Awe is the next Amazon. And Bezos is cutting a check to cover the national debt. . . again.
