RE: Hive Future: The Need For An Economy

in #hive5 years ago (edited)

Oh man oh man oh man! I'm so excited when I get to see gems like this. I was thinking the same about the economics of the ecosystem, and while STEEM and therefore HIVE have some very interesting mechanisms, like curation, the system isn't perfect yet.

Sure, we fixed the problem of centralization, that's a huge step. Also we removed the huge pre-mined supply of tokens, also a big plus. But we have to remember that the supply is still inflationary.

We need to have ways to burn HIVE tokens in useful ways. I hear talks about a treasury, which would fund the development of HIVE. That's great, as long as the tokens get used and burned somehow afterwards.

Clearly I'm just throwing ideas at the wall, but the economics of STEEM and HIVE are quite unique and amazing. Probably the best DPoS system out there, with the best staking rewards if you know how to utilize your staked power.

We really should be focusing on the collective good of the community and on the future of our stake, and prepare a plan to create incentives for everyone, especially new investors. Everyone wants to be a part of something great, be a shareholder in an economy.

PS: Upvoted and reblogged but I won't make even a dent - hope someone pins this to trending soon!
