For those too inquisitive and of a need to know and a cryptic mind.
It would be fair to be simple.
Yes, it is dayum hard to get a population to agree. Some agreement must be found, or the blockchain will lose. Having code without a common direction is a tug of war in too many directions.

There's nothing deeper, you moan and moan and don't do anything.

We can all agree plagiarism is not a good thing for the chain to be known for, or illegal activities. So let's forget all those things we can agree on as bad and not bring them up as a "Yea But" or "what about". The same for the few things we can agree on. Something like "We need witness" Or "We need coders".
But what does define a person to have done something for the blockchain?
Does a person have to code? Does a person need to have a stake of 1 million? Does a person have to write a post?
I would go with the last of those. Writing a post helps the blockchain. Everyone who has written a post, has done something for the blockchain. Every comment vote or game action helps the chain. To disregard any part is to amplify what one might agree with against what they oppose.
A person in a position of control talking down to another is not a person I want in control. I will not accept it from my own government and I will not accept it from a closed mind on discord.
I may speak out, opposing many things that have been and might come about for the chain in the future. How the individual reads what is written makes a difference. When defensive about what has been done is the mindset taken. The openness to what can be done closes. From all I see that is the place Hive is at now. Defensive and wearing blinders.
Again this post is not a negative one. I guess many will read it that way. I do not think I have ever put out a negative post on the blockchain. If you can find one in my blog. Highlight it to me. I will share how it is not negative. Because a post might say something negative. It does not mean the point behind the post is negative too. Many a time a negative thing has to be said for people to see an alternative.
The progress I see with Hive and the future. Mirrors the systems of the world before crypto. Everything is turning personal, Power and money is taking over. While both are needed to a point. The use of it to control others is not acceptable.
What is being developed on Hive? One thing for sure it is not the creation of a currency. Many of the witness near the top have voiced that too. The only goal seems to be to make millions when the price rises. The talk of community as a whole is not there, many cliché's are there. As a whole, no there is no unity. There is no focus for a way to improve on what a blockchain can be, (unless its code). What we have is new tech with primitive minds.
Ultimately, Crypto is going to the banks unless structure is found.
Structure is a whole new topic and many consideration to it need to take place in discussions.
When asking people what they would like to see for Hive. The reply mostly is a high price for HIVE. The ability to use it comes in second with those who talk with myself. Then there is more games and better this or that. Search function and filters.
The priority seems to be for a high value on the HIVE token. Can that not be a topic of discussion on how to bring that about.
....ctnd I have also to wonder. Does this witness think they have done all they have done all by themselves?
If so they are really a sad case. They are only in the position they are in because of support from the rest of the community. The people at the top are only there because we are here. We should not forget that, neither should they. Both sides need each other to exist.
Cryptic: Its simply fair.
If you unravelled the cryptic you should maybe also go unvote that witness. He does not care about your opinions, unless they align with themselves, They look down upon you if you do not code. You do nothing for the chain if you are not a coder according to them.

Excellent points and there shouldn't be any person out there who believes or behaves as if "they are superior" in any way as Hive is definitely not a blockchain that is solely dependent on any one branch of know how.
Your reaction was 100% in line with the ecosystem, in that you utilized your stake to cast a vote for a witness, in this case to remove your vote for that witness. Well done. There should be nhf when a person votes or unvotes a witness for whatever the reason may be. A persons vote is their own choice and as such should be respected as such. From what I see, you may have been somewhat motivated on a 'personal level", however after reading this post it is clear that you did not use your witness vote as a "tool of oppression" but rather as it is intended and that is to vote for those witnesses whom you believe will represent you to the best of their ability.

People vote, use and abuse power and money in what is often referred to as "the real world" and it is the very same people who do it when given the opportunity in any arena, such as "online" or "the virtual world" (as some may refer to it).
The common denominator is people!
However, not to pick away at parts of your post, when read as a whole, from start to end, I think that you have done what is expected from an active, reliable and very loyally motivated contributor to our Hive ecosystem.
I wish more people would (including my hotheaded self) could calmly and responsibly do the same, no matter what the situation evoking it may be.

The only reason I can remain calm at times (not Always) is because I have been through it already. I have too much life experience for one person I think sometimes..
I am looking forward to HF 25. It will be interesting when witness votes begin to decay, and people need to actively vote for witnesses. There is no Hive with out the people that post, comment, and vote. Would there be a Hive Block Chain if everyone stopped posting, commenting, and voting? the chain might be able to survive, but then what would it be.
Arrogance is a hard thing for people to see in themselves and overcome. When they begin the downward spiral they will often cast the blame for their downfall on others. If the witness retention/selection system of HF 25 is able to remain intact, in 2 years I think we will see a very different attitude from witnesses.
Some estimates go as High as 40% of the voting power that is voting could be lost.
