dhive

in #hive4 years ago

Fellow Devs, I've got some great news.

Thanks to the hard work of @petertag (who did most of the migration) and @good-karma, we've got a Hive library version of dsteem, originally created by @jnordberg (🙏)

While a working version has been available for 2 days under the old name, dsteem, you can find it now on npm under @hivechain/dhive. (hivechain refers to the organization we're going to use to publish npm packages for hive)

While everything should be running smoothly (I'm using it for my witness tools & other projects already), please test it first, in case there are some bugs.

The code will be available very soon under https://gitlab.syncad.com/hive (this link is going to be edited once it's available).

As gratitude, beneficiaries are set to @petertag (50%) and @good-karma (25%).

Great guys. Nice work.

I would recommend having all the Hive related codes and libraries in one github account as multiple repositories (probably forked from parent). It will help people contribute. As I can see, now many devs have their own version of updated/patched steem libraries. It can be added to one repository and the list can be provided here.

Look at the below libraries. A new developer who is trying to understand the Hive ecosystem can have difficulties to get all the resources. For example, the Python libraries are available below:

Beem (Holger Py library) : https://github.com/holgern/beem
BHive (thecrazygm Beem port & possible expansion) : https://github.com/thecrazygm/bhive | https://pypi.org/project/bhive/
Hive-Py (Pharesim Steem-Py port) : https://github.com/pharesim/hive-python

If you can see above, each one have their own repo. Can you please speak with the other devs in the team and consider my suggestion?

Edit: I just found that there are two sites for developer documentation itself. This creates lots of confusion. People who are willing to contribute will not know which one to contribute to.

It will be great if things can be more organized. Tagging @bobinson @blocktrades @therealwolf @crimsonclad @mahadiyari

This is awesome! Thank you all!

I've got some tiny bots for some of the dice playing games that I haven't touched for over 2 years that I need to now change and wasn't sure how to, but I think I'll be able to find what I need in here.... (or at least know who I can ask help from).

Yeah. You guys are all killing it.

Thanks for the tag, been really busy this week with the rona shit and haven't had a lot of time to do anything really. Will be tryna get back on it tomorrow, we'll see though
