Greetings, hive community! I am thesoulofsol, here to reintroduce myself and extend a warm welcome to my blog! Take a moment to explore my blog, where you'll find valuable insights and lessons in this journey with me.

So sit back, read, and relax.

Being a student leader always comes with unique responsibilities that can help us shape the school and provide a valued leadership experience. Whether you are leading a club, organizing a school event or even representing your fellow students, it requires your dedication and a strong sense of responsibility. One key to being a good student leader is the need to serve as a role model for other students. This involves showing them a positive mindset and behavior, academic diligence, and a commitment to the betterment of the school. These student leaders are often looked up to by their peers and are expected to set a good example in their conduct and actions

Another important aspect of being a good student leader is being able to communicate and collaborate with their fellow students. They should often act as liaisons between student bodies and they must be able to convey the needs and concerns of their peers in a professional and respectful manner. These sets of responsibilities of being a student leaders also add of how they will take the task or organizing and executing various events and initiatives on campus. These includes planning meetings, coordinating activities, and ensuring that everything runs smoothly. Their ability to manage time effectively and work well under pressure is very important for student leaders in these situations.

All I can say is that being a student leader has a lot of responsibilities that come with its own sets of challenges and rewards. It will provide each one of them an opportunity for personal growth, the development of skills, and the chance to positively change the campus community in the most positive and effective way, whether you’re leading a club, advocating for change, or even organizing events. Always remember that being a student leader will indeed put you in the most fulfilling and enriching experience.

And here, I proudly share to you my journey of running as a candidate and how nerve-racking it was as someone who is a first timer. I also dedicate this blog to my beloved partylist, SANDIGAN, for not just being the people who helped me get through this tough battle but the people whom became a new set of family in mine.

Even before they announced the upcoming election, I already thought of joining. It was very questionable at first because I had never been this interested and eager to join the student council. I don’t have many skills and experiences in leadership but this school year has brought me all the hard steps and realization that being a leader is never a joke. I am the class vice-president in our room and sometimes I am the one who’s asked to do the president’s task since there are times that he’s not around. Which was pretty hard. And there isn’t a grouping my classmates won’t choose me to lead a group. It’s quite draining actually especially when there are times that it is so hard to let your groupmates cooperate to do a certain task because they become too dependent to the point that they will depend on all the tasks in me. But then again, it’s part of being a leader and I know a lot of students out there can relate.

To cut this short, I was very hesitant of joining SSLG because I thought the students that will run for this school year’s candidacy are very much more experienced than I am. I was taken aback by my thoughts of ‘what ifs’ but I know myself that I can prove to these people that even without experience, I have the qualities to run, serve, and lead. Because I have already proven it.

Running for candidacy has been an incredibly challenging yet rewarding experience for me as a first-timer. With the support of my ka-party list, SANDIGAN, this journey has been made more enjoyable and memorable. The camaraderie and sense of purpose within the SANDIGAN have truly been invaluable.

As someone who likes to observe people, I can attest to the positive impact that SANDIGAN has had on the entire process. The dedication and enthusiasm of my fellow members have not only made the campaign more enjoyable but also more effective. Their support has truly been instrumental in navigating the challenges of running for candidacy. The student body has also been a crucial part of this journey. Their engagement and support have encouraged me to push forward and remain committed to our shared goals. As we move forward, I am confident that the SANDIGAN will continue to play a pivotal role in our campaign, and I am grateful for their unwavering support.

The aftermath of the student election results brought a mix of emotions for all of us in the party. While it was a moment of joy for many who secured victory, it was also hard to witness some of our members being left behind. The announcement brought unexpected tears, revealing how much we genuinely cared for each other despite our brief time together. As time passes, it's important to remember that defeat does not define us. It's just a part of our journey, and though it may be disheartening, it's not the end. I am confident that new opportunities will present themselves in the future.

I remember what my senior told me before the day of the election; ‘Hello, Inday! Just wanted to shoot you a quick message. You’re definitely running on the strongest SSLG party list I’ve seen, hands down. It takes guts to put yourself out there, and I gotta say, your platform is inspiring. Last year, I ran for president too, and let me tell you, student elections can be a wild ride. Sometimes the “should-be” leaders don’t win, but that shouldn’t discourage you. Here’s the thing: the right leaders ALWAYS find a way to make a difference, regardless of a title. Keep your head held high, focus on your message, and most importantly, OWN your passion for SSLG. The student body needs leaders who truly care, and that passion will shine through. Remember, even if the votes don’t go your way this time, your dedication will inspire others and pave the way for positive change. Seriously, best of luck for today’s elections. Rooting for all of you guys all the way!’

I was beyond happy and was eager to pursue what I just started because his message helped me get through overthinking about negative things. And I definitely agree with what he said. It truly takes courage and determination to participate in student elections, especially when running for a position like the SSLG party list. Student elections are indeed a rollercoaster of emotions, where the outcome may not always align with our expectations. However, I firmly believe that true leadership transcends titles and is rooted in a genuine passion for making a difference. The message’s emphasis on staying true to my beliefs and focusing on the impact I can create, regardless of the election results, is incredibly inspiring.

Running for candidacy has been an eye-opening experience, and I am grateful for the support and camaraderie provided by SANDIGAN. Their dedication has made this journey not only bearable, but enjoyable, and I look forward to the road ahead with optimism and enthusiasm.

As the elections end with the newly elected officers, I am dedicated to upholding my responsibilities and actively contributing to the progression and enhancement of our beloved school. Each of us has the power to impact our school environment positively, creating a more vibrant and inclusive community for all.

To my fellow aspiring leaders, I urge you to embrace this journey with passion and purpose. Stay steadfast in your dedication, strive for excellence in all your endeavors, and remember that every action you take has the potential to shape the future of our school. Let us work together to foster a culture of collaboration, respect, and continuous improvement. Your leadership, no matter how big or small, can make a significant difference in the lives of our peers and the overall school experience.

Embrace the challenges, celebrate the successes, and continue to inspire positive change within our school community. Together, we can create a brighter and more promising future for all.
