Make Onboarding New People to HIVE Great Again

Hey HIVE Community! Long time member here and content creator with a large following that is not on this platform yet for the most part. Hence the reason I am writing this post, as I am currently trying to get new people to join HIVE and they cannot.
During my livestream last night I was notified by multiple audience members who have tried to join HIVE, that the “Hive Onboard” platform for signing people up was “out of tickets” to sign up new users?
I have been telling people to use this guide: https://jryze.me/hive/
Which tells them to use: https://signup.hive.io/
Which brings up 5 options for joining HIVE, 3 of those options (are perfectly fine) but they cost money, and my audience is well not interested in those options for some reason. So the other two options being “Ecency” and “HiveOnBoard” are the only two free ones, and Hive on Board is the main one people choose to join with. However it does not work as seen above.
So now for the average user, this is too much hassle and they quit. Even if there are other options like Ecency, most people won’t go the far. The sign up process for HIVE needs to be boomer proof, and currently it’s hard for even skilled tech people. They won’t go with the paid options because a lot of them don’t even have crypto currency, so HIVE was gonna be their start into this journey. Which leaves the other two free options, and the main one doesn’t work. Brutal.
It's like shooting one's own foot:

Even if they do make it to joining this HIVE platform, they don’t have any Hive power anymore, which limits their ability to use HIVE and they give up. I am not saying I agree with them giving up, but that’s what they do.
If we want HIVE to grow we need to have a much easier process for joining. Then when they join they should have enough HIVE power to at least post comments.
These are my thoughts as a content creator who is trying to onboard people to HIVE, but struggle to do so because it’s such a difficult platform for the average audience member to join and grasp how it works.
This needs to be made way easier, I should not have to create an hour long tutorial video to explain to noobs how to even join this platform or this network will continue to grow slowly instead of seeing the parabolic growth we should be seeing.
There should also be some sort of referral program for people that drive traffic here from other platforms, just saying someone bringing hundreds of people here from YouTube is worth more than someone posting photos of a bridge, or their travels that only HIVE people see. We need to grow this network which means we need content creators that have reach outside of HIVE.
Onboarding new users is the main priority of this growing platform, get it right so we can bring people here. I honestly want to hear from the HIVE community on how we can fix this or do we just have to make people pay to use this platform? Thus limiting the growth. Let me know what you think below?
Agree. I am a tech guy and it has not been easy. To date I still do not fully comprehend it. But I post, comment, re-blog and share across different media channels. I love the idea, but it has to be easier. I did start with https://peakd.com/ and now I use ecency.com as well.
Yeah see this is the main problem with HIVE and no one wants to address it.
I wrote an article about this issue recently.
My girlfriend wanted to join and it was a complicated nightmare creating an account. We couldn't even upload a profile picture. She struggled through because I was there to help, but had she been a complete stranger? No chance, they would have given up.
This has to be improved if HIVE is to grow.
I really appreciate your research and help with Hive,Crypto,ARR,etc. I joined up thru Ecency.com I hope it is linked to HIVE so I can use it as you have tried to explain to us. I will be looing into tutorials for this if it works out, respect

You do a good thing for HIVE. We need more members, thanks mate.
quick question...Is this Hive? (ecency.com)
Yep, this has been an area of frustration for me as well, as I see the potential of Hive, and I am trying to bring more people here, but the signup difficulty and the overall complexity and learning curve most definitely does not make that easy.
I was able to get my girlfriend/partner, @kai-sunrise, here, via @ecency, however the amount of time required to learn the ropes and grow the account is not something she has time and attention for yet.
Of the free options, Ecency works well still.
Yeah I have brought many people here, and they start for like a week or two and then give up. It's so frustrating because it takes so long to get them to join, then they give up. I wish people would put the time and effort into this platform they do Facebook, Twitter, etc. However they won't until this platform becomes more user friendly so that hot chicks who can barely tie their shoes start posting half naked selfies here for HBD earnings, that is the only way we get the Tik Tok type numbers.
I was gonna say this isn't the most user friendly site, but my page is worth like $4 since June.
When I tell people about Hive, I do my best to explain a very-not-simple subject as simply, clearly, and succinctly as possible, while also giving them an idea of the astounding potential of the platform, and some of the possible benefits to them.
There is a fellow (an amazing artist and writer, along with being a wonderful human) who I'd like to bring here, and he's interested, but I'm daunted explaining for him all that is necessary for him to do well here. He'd be a fantastic addition to Hive. He'd most definitely contribute lots of good content.
