Hello Hivers,

I wanted to share a quick update on SteemRSS/HiveRSS and migration changes.

What is HiveRSS

In case you aren't familiar, HiveRSS is a tool for generating RSS feeds from Hive blog feeds. You can use it to get a feed for topics or users on Hive. For example, the RSS feed for posts trending under the "#hive" tag, use the url http://www.hiverss.com/trending/hive. This is very useful when plugged into an RSS reader to subscribe to several Hive tags/users in one place. Several more examples are shown on the http://www.hiverss.com home page.

What has Changed

This app used to be named SteemRSS and located at www.SteemRSS.com. That old domain now points to the HiveRSS app. A new domain is setup at www.HiveRSS.com.

HiveRSS pulls data only from the Hive blockchain, and is updated so that feed items contain links to Hive front ends. The default front end and list of alternatives is updated.

Switching Between Hive Front Ends

HiveRSS feeds can be configured to use links to popular Hive frontends. The default is hive.blog. You can choose another front end by setting the 'interface' query parameter. For example, to get a feed of my blog with links to peakd.com, the URL is: http://www.hiverss.com/@torrey.blog?interface=peakd. Other frontends you can choose are 'esteem', 'busy', 'peakd'.

Feedback

If you have any issues or enhancement requests for HiveRSS, please let me know.

Thanks for reading, and have a great weekend all. Please stay safe.

ps. This is my first Hive post! Since launch I have been a busy bee promoting Hive on Twitter. You can find me there at: https://twitter.com/@steem_up. #HiveIsAlive #HiveHasArrived #ThriveOnHive

👋Hi @torrey.blog,

Good news! We've added Hive RSS to the
Hive Blockchain Directory, here:

Swarm!

Thank you. I hope some hivers find the tool useful.

Hi! I can't look at this low-res HiveRSS logo, so I created better versions - use them however you want.

Thank you so much @lukmarcus. I threw the image together in a hurry to finish the migration. I really appreciate the help and I will put this image in production immediately.

I replaced the image in this post, and I published it to HiveRSS.com. Thank you again! Graphic design is my weak spot.

Hi,

I have a worpress travel blog.

I was wondering if it was possible to use your tool in any way to integrate my travel posts on hive to my blog.

I would like to pull my travel posts on Hive into nice looking articles on my blog. This will save me the time and effort of copy pasting and formatting all those posts all over again in wordpress.

I did try it, i used the instructions on the www.hiverss.com to generate a link. I used a RSS aggregator plugin and fed the link as input source, however it keeps saying the link is not valid.

Also can it be used to pull individual articles ?

Thank You :)

Hi @sajannair, it should would. Which URL did you try? The feed for your blog would be http://www.hiverss.com/@sajannair

i tried my "posts" page.

https://hiverss.com/@sajannair/posts

Btw would it be possible to manually pull individual posts. Basically i want only my travel posts to be pulled to my wordpress blog.

Sorry, the posts page doesn't work. Try the link I shared in my previous comment.

There currently is not a way to filter the list of posts. I could add a way to select posts from your blog by tag. So that if you tag posts with #travel tag, for example, only those posts will appear in the RSS feed. I like this idea, I'll work on it.

Hey! The tag thing would be great. A user can then set a specific tag to ensure those posts get pulled by the feed :)

Yaaaayyy ! :)

Thank You :)

This feature has been implemented.

You can get a feed of your travel posts like this:
