It's all about the money

in #hive4 years ago (edited)

So, the price of Hive went down, and with it the enthusiasm of hivians. Splash to the rate, like a sea storm, woke up the sleeping small fish been pulled into the vortex. Now, the excitement has subsided a bit, and gradually, the same familiar fish will remain swimming in our aquarium drained of power.

After takeoff there are recessions. This was predictable.

When I was new to the blockchain-based social network, I remember looking at my meager payouts and thinking - is it really possible to make money here? I read the posts about what will happen to the price, and the comments like "no matter what happens to the crypto course, the main thing is the future of the platform," seemed a little insincere. After all, isn't it all for the money?

Gradually I got involved. It was interesting, challenging and exciting, although I was not very active and diligent. In addition, my financial situation and life in general have changed somewhat, so it did not depend on writing posts and rewards.

But a few weeks ago the price of Hive has taken off so so that there are no users who would not notice it. The cost of the account has increased approximately 4 times. This is extremely tempting.

In Ukraine, people are not used to making long-term bets. Too often, the financial system has deceived and bailed on people of the whole country. Therefore, investors intend to recoup their investments as soon as possible. Coz the rules of the game can change considerably any moment. That's why along with low salaries we have high interest rates on loans, and on deposits are also slightly higher than in the world. As well as the risk of losing them.

Unlike a bank, according to the rules of the Hive, the one isn't able to withdraw HP quickly, as well as receive payment for the post. Must be at least a week. Until then, the price may change.

I remember mockery of me, when I powered up instead of withdrawal. At that time, my financial situation was quite satisfactory, and my conclusions would not change anything significantly. These days, I ask myself again - did I do the right thing by not taking it out when the course was at its peak? Coz now my situation has changed. I have a big loan and no less debt. This is an extremely large amount for me. My withdrawal would not cover this debt, but it would still be less. Was it wise to ... not do anything? I am not a financial analyst, this area isn't mine. So I have no answer. Instead, @livinguktaiwan pitched an idea to set a goal. Not a goal as such, but a goal in time - 10,000 until the next New Year. Not too much but still, for a lazy user :)

All right. I have two years to pay back as much as I can. I didn’t know before how much I could live on per month. Now i know it, and probably it's not my bottom limit 😆 What will happen to the price of Hive in 2 years? What will happen to all of us? Did you hear that El Salvador authorities plan to build a Bitcoin city, and its residents will be exempt from all taxes except VAT? So, who knows where the world be. But we continue to plan and dream. Recently, I've learned a small, perhaps obvious thing. While going to the next milestone, you need to live each day on the way to it. Don't eagerly flip through to see the finish, and reside in every day and every moment.

See you!

Wow...

This is really enlightening.
Truth is probably a lot of people are just here for the rewards but i think it depends on how long you're ready to keep up with your investment.

But then the crypto world is still largely unpredictable and one might run a loss.

Overall, i think it depends on individual perspective.

I'd say majority's here for money. Actually, all that I've inverted was my time, thus I don't risk real money. This is rather a potential asset

And time is money too...

Agree. Or could be ;)

I think there are two tribes on Hive

  1. those that see this as a vehicle to make a fast buck
  2. those that are here form the friendship, the sharing of adventures, photos and tales

Or both :)

hmm, hadn't considered that
