RE: Introducing The Hive Builder Project

in #hivebuilder4 years ago

Always nice to see projects like this being started and I can confirm the proper handling and refund on the @steemitbuilder project.

A question with a more skeptical note though.

  • Where will the actual value and returns come from? I mean curation on a yearly basis makes an account grow with +15% when you do it effectively. You can't just take funds from new buyers and redistribute them to existing token holders as it would be textbook Ponzi which totally collapses once nobody is buying into it anymore. People that want out can also just undercut the 1 Hive price and sell for 0.99 which makes it so that no new Hive comes in to .

I run a curation project myself (@upvoteshares) where shareholders can get their full investment back and the project needs a ton of different value-creating mechanisms including systematic new investments from myself to give good returns to active shareholders. I don't see where this comes from with @hivebuilder aside from the initial 2500HP lease.

Hello, i have the same questions as @costanza

I can confirm this is true and your 60% back back will not be used as people will uncut your 1 HIVE price on hive-engine. This will kill your sales after you get a few thousand tokens out there and kill your project. You would better using a SBI units sort of thing and holding out for SMT/HMT's as you cant control a hive engine token price.

I'd like to know what airdropped tokens are backed by? If i buy 1000 tokens for 1000 of my hard earned HIVE that are instantly worth 600 HIVE due to your buyback policy, i would need to HODL for roughly 1 year to collect enough airdropped tokens to break even at 0.60 per token. I understand the tokens i buy are backed by 0.60 HIVE but what are the airdropped tokens backed by? Where does the money come from?

Alot of people might tell you to scrap the idea but i would say, relook at your numbers. Put your rewards down and look for other streams of income. Make sure if you wanna airdropped tokens, you can earn funds to back to them to 0.60. Earning 10-20% in backed tokens is better and will bring in bigger investment than offering 60% in magic beans.

Good luck my friend :)

Hi @costanza, @silverstackeruk, valid questions and let me try to answer as best we can.

#1. What backs the airdropped tokens = curation, off site staking
#2. Where will the actual value and returns come from = curation, off site staking
#3. What if people list tokens at 0.99 = we buy them back, someone already paid us 1 hive for that token to be listed, so that's a 0.01 profit. (we have a buy back scheme and multiple methods of funding)

If you do the math based on Hive and a few random upvotes each month at our minimum buy-back it works out at approx. 11% to 15% apr. There's no magic beans here I'm afraid, just a different (may seem overly complicated) type of curation model with an off site income stream.
