RE: Hardfork 28 - Facts, Fun & Panel discussion

thanks, wanted to see a TLDR; somewhere!

regarding 2) so I assume we more quickly expend voting power then? I think it used to be like 12 votes per day until recharge; would this mean we would have e.g. like 8 votes but all having 100% voting power per day?

Sort:

A good question. But I can't answer that. Maybe @gtg knows.

It is 10 daily that will let you spend at the rate it is replenishing.
And yes, now you can cast 10 votes one after another and all will be of same strength.

Oh - Only 10 in total a day?

I do way more each day, so what happens with vote 11

Nothing, you will just eventually run out of votes that matter, pretty much same as now. Alternatively you can vote with fraction of your 100% vote, to mimic old behavior.

I like this change! People who are more active in voting can adjust there % bar and increase amount lowering value each vote.

Btw the key change makes total sense! I just have a DM on discord with someone who lost master and has been using lower keys to function for 6 years and even though that’s so stupid! I just think not making the change the big warning & story is a problem when if they knew they could have powered down if they had 13 weeks. Nobody’s , especially not me, arguing they were smart to just think in 2018 “ oh I don’t wanna start over, since these power keys work I won’t bother starting over on new account right way” My earlier comment is just how this fact and change hasn’t been discussed hardly at all and first priority should have been making anything, even a account user being a fool not starting over when yet realized it, still it should have Bern the headline and warning ⛔️ because more accounts then u realize will be locked out.

"someone who lost master and has been using lower keys"

It is my understanding that if they have their Owner Key, they can set a new Master Password seed, and derive four new Keys (Owner, Active, Posting, Memo) from it. But, they must have that Owner Key in the absence of a Master Password.

Perfect!
