Currency packs have sold out! Last chance to get EXODE alpha starters!

Alpha starters are leaving EXODE shop for good in 24 hours!
But a number of other packs are also leaving, such as the rebel starter.

Our currency packs were also too interesting in value, so to protect EXODE Credits we were going to remove them too from shop! but players were faster, so they got sold out!

Let's give an overview of remaining packs and the ones leaving in 24 hours.


Starters


You need a starter to play EXODE.

A Starter gives you everything you need for that, including a crew, a starship and a background skill (what we call an Origin Card).

Alpha Starters

Alpha Starters have 14 cards with one unique Origin, one unique Starship, three Officers and the rest made of at least one Resource card and many crew members of their main faction or of versatile affiliation.

About Versatile: There are many factions in the world of 2325 and usually every card in EXODE has one. Some cards however mention the trait "Versatile", which means they can be played with any faction. So you could have some cards from one Starter which you can play with any other Starter.

Every starter makes you able to play all areas of gameplay but each also specifically focuses on some sides of EXODE, which they also make stronger.

The starters were still availble during beta but with a unit distribution limit ; and now we are sunsetting this offer!

All alpha starters are leaving shop tomorrow!
After today you will then be able to have these starters only from players.

Note that there four more Origins! The Repentant Pirate, the Stranded Trader, the Cruise Ship Captain and the Secret Agent are only available in Alpha Boosters.

Beta Starters

Beta Starters have 9 cards with one unique Origin, one unique Starship, three Officers, three crew members or passengers and one Resource card.

Their starship usually has room for a few more cards than the starter itself: so you can make it stronger with other starters or booster content.

Beta Starters usually have an even more versatile role than alpha Starters: with their Origin often having a hybrid affiliation (ie Scientific + Civilian or Religious + Civilian), which rewards expert play!

The Selfmade-Savior is "only" Civilian but makes use of cards which have multiple affiliations too, such as the war veteran. This allows a situation where you could have traits boosted by several factions.

But on the other hand Beta Starters often lack the unique power and larger size of Alpha Starships... a larger-sized ship from Alpha also rewards expert play: as you have more crew to manage!

The Rebel Agent starter was a special offer available to our veteran players and will leave shop for the time being.

This is done for now to reduce the crazy number of options displayed in EXODE: players do not need to have that many choices as it can be confusing to them.


Boosters


Boosters give you five random cards of random rarity with 2% chance for them to be even more unique: they will be "Elite" versions, which are unique variations with higher skill values and possible special abilities! Some rare cards exist only in a few copies as Elite.

Beta Boosters: Beta Boosters did not have their opening yet, though this date approaches as we have hinted since March/April for Contract Opening coming soon, and Beta Booster Opening will come right after! So right now to get more active crew members to play: Alpha Boosters are the preferred option... while they last!

Alpha Boosters: There are less than 4k alpha boosters still available which are the only way to get for yourself some alpha Origin cards, crew, starships and equipment, with more than 150 unique card models (and double this amount with Elites). Unless you plan on sniping these cards from player offers.


Currency Packs


We were going to sunset most of our interesting currency pack options to protect EXOCREDITS value in the longterm: as the packs were giving far too many credits!

For the same reason, we issued only a few units of the highest value packs. The objective is to protect longterm value, even when we raise funds for development!

But players were faster: and they have sold out!

You still have access to the 1600 EXOCREDITS pack at 84.90 USD, at least for now, as the two other packs have sold out.

EXOCREDITS are on hive-engine at 0.210 HIVE, so the current pack value is 336 HIVE which is 106 USD right now even when HIVE is currently low at 0.317 USD. (and will be a lot more when HIVE rises)

Please note that EXOCREDITS will increase price at +0.05 HIVE per month.

The demand for it is of course not apparent while Factions is in demo mode but as Factions is P2E gameplay, you can expect it to shine and rise!

It is planned to appear and increase when Factions gameplay comes out and with every new player, as EXOCREDITS are used when upgrading your cards.

And as we aim for growth this year, it's still interesting to take more exocredits.

At some point we will propose direct hive engine purchase with fiat through our platform: at that moment this interesting shop pack may also disappear! You have the information now. So when this happens, you'll lose the interesting rate you get from this pack, but you'll be able to purchase with fiat at current rate (0.210 HIVE right now, but will be higher later).

We really believe this will be a neat options for players to purchase it right away!


Contract Packs


TLDR: Contracts have incredible value. They merges blockchain with game faction identity and special "lifetime loot" distributed every week. But they also unlock special mission areas in EXODE Factions!

But your time is very precious too, so we'll inspect contracts again in detail in a new article!

My preference is the Science starter. I think that a science group will do well in the game but there is always the threat of battle. So I think the goal is to have a well balanced team, one that lets you research but is also able to protect itself.

For some reason I do not see a pure science team doing well if there is any kind of physical treat on the new planet.

As for Factions, I am unsure what direction to go, as not enough details and game play have been released yet. Really looking forward to the Factions game play and seeing some of the cards in action!!

The alpha science starter is my favorite. They might be squishy but we'll see how they fair fully decked out with Eisen suits, Good Mornings, and Auto Guided Ammo.

I have been eyeing the game quite a few times but I always think I'll regret it after buying it?

Is it worth it?

It's a game, one of the new gameplays allowed by blockchain, not really a scheme or a financial pattern.

Also, even if there are opportunities to take "now", new game scenes come every year. And some are in development.

Both situations make me inclined to tell you not to feel bad if you feel you have missed the earlier times: EXODE always comes up better!

As it's a game so I think you need to see if the game part suits ou.
