RE: A peer-to-peer network for sharing and rating information

No offense, but this will fail. Why?

The scientific method as a means of rating information

You use this site, right? You see how many conspiracy theories end up on trending DAILY, right? All those posts DENY the scientific method.

Which is highly amusing seeing as, much like the consensus of scientists, the consensus of the blockchain is what makes blockchains work. But it attracts these scientific consensus deniers!

I'm aware that there are people that dispute the validity of the scientific method. Nonetheless, scientific progress continues.

For similar reasons, I think tools like this that help automate and improve our normal cognitive processes will be useful to human progress, even if not everyone will use them or even if they abuse them to create echo chambers.

I don't view this as a mechanism where its success or failure rests solely on its ability to achieve universal consensus of opinion. I'm not that naive about human nature. And in some areas I don't think we even have enough information to reasonably achieve consensus of opinion, unless maybe the consensus opinion is "we can't be sure".
