Good Day Hivers! How was your Holy Week? By the way, this is me again @kyyyys. Today I will share with all of you, my fellow Hivers, about my Holy Week happenings with my family.

Every last week of March is Holy Week. (The events of Holy Week recount the so-called 'passion narratives' in the New Testament Gospels that relate to the suffering (passio in Latin), death, and burial of Jesus Christ. Thus, Holy Week marks the last week of the Christian season of Lent – the week leading up to Easter).

In the Philippines, we have a tradition that during Holy Week, we need to cook Binignit (a thick and sweet stew of assorted tubers and fruits with landang or tapioca pearls cooked in coconut milk. It makes use of glutinous rice (“pilit”) which is responsible for its thick texture). Some Filipinos go to the mountains where there is a Cross or a Statue that stands for Calvary (a representation of Christ's crucifixion, usually sculptured and in the open air). Any experience involving great sufferings

We planned to cook binignit for Good Friday. So, Me and my mother woke up early to prepare and buy ingredients for binignit. But first of all we ate bread and drink coffee to get our day started with full of energy. After drinking coffee we went to a nearby store that sells variety of foods and veggies. We bought sweet potatoes, sago, coconut, landang, sugar for binignit and we also bought dried fish and eggs for breakfast.

Later on, my sisters and I went to Ilihan Carbon Market to buy the other ingredients that we didn't get at the store near our house. We bought Banana for the Binignit, Sticky Rice or pilit for our Biko, Ginger, Orange, and Apple for our little sister. After buying the ingredients, we went home. When we arrived, my mother had already finished slicing the Sweet Potatoes, so my job was to slice the Banana, I washed the pots that we were going to use for cooking the Binignit and Biko. After slicing, I cooked the eggs and dried fish then we had breakfast.

A few minutes later, the Binignit was already cooked.

We went back to Ilihan Carbon Market but this time I am with my mother. We bought fish for lunch and bought some feeds for her piglets.

Upon arriving home, I automatically cleaned the fish and made a fire to cook. I also made a sauce for it. It took me a few minutes to cook the fish, and I felt a little bit hungry while cooking, so I told my sisters to prepare the table so that we can immediately eat after cooking.

At 4 o'clock in the afternoon, we went to my Grandparents' farm to get some fresh coconut. My sister's boyfriend was the one who climbed the coconut tree, and the other one broke the coconut to check if it was good to drink or eat.

While me and my sisters were waiting for them to finish getting some coconut we decided to collect some fallen branch of mahogany trees to make a fire. We enjoyed getting mahogany branch because we were accompanied by our grandfather's cow.

After the boys finished getting some coconuts we then decided to go home and drink it.

That's all for today. Thank you for reading and supporting my blog.🫰

See you on my next one!!😉
Don't forget to pray always, and may God bless us all. Adios.🫡
