The steel brush or sponge is something often used in many holmes when washing dishes. It is used to get the food particles that do not rinse simply with water.

I keep noticing that if I scrub just a bit harder with it, the sponge will leave a lot of metallic particles behind after I finish scrubbing. These can be very hazardous to your health if you don't rinse the dishes or cookware properly, so it would be best to just avoid it altogether.

Instead, you could opt for a plastic brush, while again, still not 100% ideal, is much better than the metallic alternative which in some cases, I fear might even contain aluminum particles.
One more step to a safer home. Thanks for reading my article!
Thanks for the headsup, I sometimes use the metallic ones!
