Over the weekend I found myself referring to the Black Thumb Chronicles for information and progress pictures. I did the maths and it's quite hard to believe it's been 41 days since we began this journey! It felt much longer than 41 days especially the way the garden has progressed.
I realised too that I have secured the history of my garden on the blockchain almost to every detail, hopefully this will help others on the same path get an idea of where to start and what to look for.
With that in mind I decided to create this visual time line of the garden's progress over the last few weeks to help people gauge where their garden is at compared to mine.

I'm a total beginner and a lot of what I've done, from the bag to the lasagna (especially the way we did our lasagna) is based on research we've done online and then modified to suit us.

First day of clearing.

Lasagna and bag garden time.
Being already halfway into the last month of Summer, I felt it was imperative we get started on the garden immediately.
Seeing that our spot was not ready, the bag garden was a way for us to get started with our crops now while we are working on the lasagna.
The lasagna garden.
- Lay down cardboard (or paper) to stop weeds from coming through.
- Add branches and foliage
(Ideally, the grass cuttings and mulch should be added straight away but we left ours for much later while we waited for the branches and foliage to dry out.)
The bag garden.
- Stab holes on the back of the soil bag
- Cut out a section at top of the bag and plant as per usual.
March 1
Bag garden progress
As a newbie gardener I didn't know what to expect with these plants. How long it will take to see growth, how big they'll all grow or how far they'd spread. I really wasnt sure.
Every day for 2 weeks I would wake up and race out to the garden to see it's progress, and every day it seemed to have grown that extra little bit. It quickly became apparent that we needed to move the plants sooner rather than later.
March 8
Filling in the lasagna
Here you can see how the lasagna has progressed over 3 weeks and the last shot is of the lasagna after we filled it in with grass cuttings.
As you can see it also made great progress over the weeks going from very green and fresh to brown and mostly brittle.
I should also mention I walked on top of those branches every few days to crush what I could to bring the height down.
