Hand Forged Nails: I found a Beauty

Found this one with my metal detector. I am going to keep it, to add to my rusty nail collection.

When I was little, my Papa was always pulling nails out, straightening them, and saving them. He'd hand some to me to straighten. I never saw him buy nails. He'd alway reuse them. It wasn't a throwaway society back then.

That's wrought iron, pretty rare anymore. Nice find.

I love this stuff. Nails were hard to make once upon a time. People didn't waste them. The nail I found looks like a little sculpture. the top was folded back upon itself to make a head.

Great find! I've a small collection of them that Ive picked up over the years.

What do you do with them? I plan on using some of them in my cabin build.

I just like them because they have a history of being useful

My guess is you are saving them up for when you put the addition on your little house. Haha! 🐓🐓
