On Thursday when I went to do the cats, I saw some of the buds on the chrysanthemum had opened.

As I walked to the car, I saw a lone violet in the violet bed I’d cleaned out in the summer.

On Friday the colors started to change. This is along the driveway to the road.

This is the tree line to the north.

And looking east out to the back 40. The trees bordering the back of our property are farther along.

And when I got back to the barn at noon, Lily was in her bed, giving me her stink eye.
