The problem is that in our case, this requires to prepare the soil. We added tons of it last year to level, and now we are dealing with our jungle, little by little. I plan to be ready for next year. ^^
In the meantime, we found a reasonably nice solution: we have a nice herb garden, and for the rest, there is a place where you can go and pick anything you need, for a decent price (reasonable agriculture, without having the 'organic' label that is actually pretty hard to get).
