Hello everyone! How are you doing? Getting used to Hive? :) I am just continuing with sharing my regular posts now that I'm settled in.
Today I am sharing the progress of creating my "chill space" as I like to call it. Spring has arrived and even though some temperature drops are coming these days, I started working on creating my chill spot under the hazelnut tree. It still looks bare without any green leaves but I am patient. I always loved sitting here so I thought why now improvise and come up with a simple set up where I can bring my coffee and laptop or a book. The Internet connection does not reach here but I can still write posts and upload them when I go inside. Maybe that’s even better since I can focus on writing without any distractions and notifications popping up.
I love being here surrounded by chickens and cats. :) My neighbors are also doing some construction work in their back yard during the isolation, I hear tractors from the land in the distance, a bird’s singing here and there… Fresh air, sunshine followed by a light breeze and the taste of my coffee also add a lot to this relaxing experience.

This is what I see when I look up
Why I am creating this chill spot?
I just love spending time by myself. I’m not that social and spending too much time with people drains my energy, even if it's with people I like. So for example, if I go out with my friends, I feel the need to spend the next day alone to recharge. Since I live with my family that can be pretty intense sometimes so I really appreciate a space that is just my own. In the house that is usually my room and outside I’ve been trying out different locations in our backyard and garden to see what works the best. I think that under this big hazelnut tree is the one I like the most. Trees bring to be that feeling of connection with Earth and nature, probably because they are so deeply rooted in the ground. They also represent stability and growth for me and of course, they provide a much needed shade during the hot, summer days. I will probably get bothered by my niece and nephew for a while which is okay. :) I guess they will find it interesting but soon get tired of just sitting under the tree and doing nothing haha.

The tree is awakening :)
What has been done so far
My dad did most of the work, I was just there to assist. We have this piece of tree that has been sitting around for a while now and used that as a base for the chair. Then we found two pieces of wood, same size, and cut one in half so it would make sitting more comfortable. Table was made from a crate and a piece of wood that was part of old furniture. Here's a little bit of the process:

Chair base with two wooden pieces, we figured one and a half would be the best option

Here's this wooden piece on its own and half of the wooden board on the ground lol

All drilled in for stability

Side view

A little bit of sanding, we probably should have get this done before drilling but oh well, still worked fine

Another assistant, my nephew, who was busy measuring and marking :)

Just trying to get a picture of how it would look like under the tree

This is how the table looks like, smaller pieces of wood drilled in to provide stability

My setup today, I didn'd bring the table out so I used another stool we have instead. That green plastic bag is a cover for the chair in case it rains tomorrow or anytime really. I wrote most of this blog post there, loved it!
What do you think of this DIY and set up in general? Any suggestions on what I can do to make it better? Also if you have your own personal, chill spot let me know about it in the comments. Have a great weekend everyone!

Yeah just doing it from the outside while getting the sun light is a great idea!
And the spring is here and it's not that cold anymore. I'm sure you will enjoy your time in that cozy spot. :) <3
I feel really lucky having this outside space I can still enjoy.
Enjoy the spring and the nice weather! :)
A chill spot is a wonderful idea ! I would adorn it with some simple flowers, colorful homemade garlands, a cover, a book, some pencils and sketchbook, and I would pin some of my joyful paintings here and there 😀😍
I don't know how long flowers would last because of the chickens, haha. Maybe if I find a way to keep them out of reach or protect the flowers somehow.
I like the idea of paintings, only if I was good at it. Might try it though, just for fun.
Thank you so much for the suggestions, I appreciate and like them a lot! 😃
You can use some little bottle you upcycle to use as a vase in which you put a bit water, you place small flowers, and then you fix this bottle to a tree branch by wrapping wire around the neck ...I don't know if my explanations are clear 😁
Yes, I understood what you mean, might give it a try and post about it, thanks again! 😃
And I thought I was the only one who had a "chill spot". :) I also love my alone time spending out in my backyard looking at the sky and the beautiful trees around me as well as the little ecosystem of animals around me. Thanks for the post @nikolina
Ah, glad to hear that. :)
I imagine it is very relaxing, I think we all need that in our daily life even if it's just for few minutes.
Thanks for stopping by!

You are welcome, I was supposed to leave this comment from @appreciator, lol
😂
It is great to have a place that is quiet and where you can be alone. I block off time every day to do the same. Great to see you here on Hive.

Thank you so much! Great to see you too! :)
My pleasure!
A nice little setup in nature; what could be better as a place to relax and let your imagination go to work as you write away!
Thanks, glad you like it, it is quite enjoyable! :)
