We are so excited we couldn't wait to share our new venture any longer! Recently we decided to start a new mom & pop seed business - saving and sharing seeds is one of our passions that we want to continue cultivating.
We are calling our seed business Seeds of Abundance in recognition of mother nature's abundance. We won't be offering the same extensive catalog of veggies that you might be used to from other seed vendors. Instead we will be sharing seeds of plants that are a little more on the wild side - and plants that we know from first hand experience to offer abundance in the form of food, medicine or beauty.
We are so inspired by Steemit and the (r)evolution happening in blockchain and cryptocurrencies opening the door for alternative economies. Most especially we are inspired by the homesteading, gardening, permaculture, sustainability communities on Steemit that are so vibrant, educational and doing amazing work with the plants, gardens, soil and sharing knowledge for us all to benefit.
We came to the conclusion that we would initially focus on sharing our seeds with our friends and communities within the Steemit ecosystem and we would be offering our services on a donation basis.
This is important to us for a few reasons:
- We can take part in shaping a new economy by offering our seed curation and saving service in exchange for Steem/SBD
- Seeds by donation allows us to have a conversation about the value of our service on an individual by individual basis
- Seeds by donation brings us closer to a sharing economy which is one of our ultimate goals
- We can continue sharing knowledge and learning from others about plants, homesteading and abundance.
- We can share quality seeds of plants that we have access to that others may not
We have a lot more details to share with you in the near future as we move forward. In the meantime know that we are busy bees working with the plants, saving seeds and setting up a new website :)
Are there laws on which seeds can be shipped to certain states?
I'm in Oregon, and I know the Greenies here regulate many of the plants that come in and out of the state, to protect wildlife populations. I would love to be able to purchase seeds with Steem.
That's a good question and part of the research we are still working on. We are also in Oregon (southern), so hopefully there would be no issue there :)

Thanks for suggesting international shipping. We need to research this to know how feasible it would be for us, but it is definitely of interest to make it happen.

It would be amazing to share seeds, plants and abundance with others :) So glad you got some of those tomatoes growing out.. good luck :) We have a lot of different kind of tomatoes this year.. but no poots!

The reason you have a good feeling about this is because you're following your passion, and I'm sure you've heard it mamy times but as long as you follow that passion you know deep inside you're on the right path!
The poot seeds unfortunately never sprouted, but I am following his technique from organic seeds I got in the Hudson Valley. And I am working on creating heirlooms over time!
