As I have wrote about in the past we have two Percheron Mares we plan to farm with. They both foaled this spring and we are now breeding them again. The Amish suggested we breed them back nine days after they foal as that is a prime time for fertility, but we felt it best to give them a break, especially since they are teens.
Last time we bred them both to a Standardbred stud and got two all purpose foals. This time we are breeding them to the stud pictured below who is half Standardbred and half Percheron. We had an Amish guy specifically request this cross and has agreed to purchase at least one of the foals.
This isn't the most flattering picture of myself, but it shows the size of this beautiful stud. I am about 5'6" and my husband snapped this pic as I was telling him I couldn't believe how big this guy is!
Wow, he’s huge!
I know, right? He is such a sweetheart though.

How have y'all been? Just felt like checking in, and didn't know how besides here.
Hey! I just got around to checking this! My (Mel) mom was diagnosed with stage four cancer on January 18, so we went down to Florida to care for her. She passed February 11 and then we had to travel to Michigan for services. I wish I would have had time to blog about it, but being mom's primary caregiver, taking care of my kids, and maintaining my mother's household with the loads of visitors wore me right out!! This is the first I have checked Steemit!
We follow y'all on YouTube and are hoping to start our own YouTube channel later this spring. Feel free to email any time! Josh's email is jal627 at gmail.
