As i find the shows funny, thats not really what happens. My story starts in 2005 as a contractor doing light rehabs on homes to make ends meat in my single family income home with 2 kids. As property equity was in abundance people would use the equity like a ATm machine pulling out cash for toys or vacations. Then the crash hit. Properties decreased in value in some areas by 50%. My personal house that i bought when i was 25 years old peaked at 850K not bad since i paid 140k for it. After the crash it tumbled to 380K thats a huge drop. I was not looking to move but i know the price will go back up in 7 to 10 years. I continued to work hard and did my 1st flip with a local realtor that found a property we purchased for 270K. It was a basket case house, it needed so much work the only think i left during the rehab was 4 stud walls. The house sold in 1 week for 550K. Nice profit to split between the investors and myself. After that sale the broker of the agent partner decided that the work was so good he wanted to hire me to do all of the homes he could buy. They bought many over the next 4 years. My crew worked on house after house with a budget of 10-30k at that time i was happy to just have work. Through the years my crew grew we build a chain of command. Me in the leader slot/ Juan my foreman / miguel my crew leader then 8-12 other men.

Workers came and went we never know who will pan out.
