Streemian does lag sometimes. This however is not one of those times. There have been some big issues with Steemit/blockchaing.
On Steemd.com it says "Node maintenance in progress. You may notice some features missing until it is complete."
I don't have a lot of details on this, just know it's something we have to wait out.
