and for those that run their own server / router at home there is also something called pi-hole or adguard
i use PFsense at home and connect through a vpn to my home router on my mobile so that i'm always on a local network with the same protection no matter what public wifi i use .

Yeah, there are plenty of good tools around for nearly each environment.
