How I'm Chasing 200k HP and Why You Should Join the Obsession (It's Not Just for Whales)
It feels like just yesterday I was talking about powering up 4,050 HIVE, thinking that was a pretty decent chunk. And today, another HPUD day? We're pushing it forward even more. I just dropped another 11518.95 HIVE into my powered-up stack. And yeah, I'm gonna say it, even though it feels like I'm jinxing myself That 11.5k addition puts me at just over 197,400 effective Hive Power now.
My personal goal? To hit that glorious 200,000 HP by the end of the year. Building this engine, piece by strategic piece. This isn't just numbers on a screen for me anymore – it’s a deliberate strategy. Hey I even made it onto one of @dalz reports.
You’re here on Hive, right? Earning a bit, doing your thing. But maybe, just maybe, you feel like you’re missing something. Like there’s a better way to earn. If you’re anything like me, you probably focused on the smaller gains for too long. For about six years on Hive, starting my account way back in April 2019, I was looking the other way while a massive opportunity for compounding wealth sat right there, waiting. That opportunity? See, for too many, HIVE is just a token to trade or keep liquid. And yeah, there’s basic utility in that. Who am I to judge? But keeping the bulk of your HIVE holdings liquid? That comes with some pretty damn annoying drawbacks.

- Exposure to Quick Theft: Compromised keys mean your HIVE can be gone in seconds. Like, gone gone.
- Lost Earning Potential: Liquid HIVE within the ecosystem isn't actively generating passive income like powered-up HIVE. It's just sitting there, literally doing nothing for you.
It’s like leaving your cash in a shoebox under the bed – accessible, sure, but risky as hell and definitely not working for you. Imagine being a fully functioning adult and leaving money in a shoebox. Do we not live in the same reality?
The alternative, the engine I’m talking about, is Hive Power (or HP). It’s the difference between being a visitor on the chain and a secure, earning stakeholder in the chain. I really had to shift my own perspective on this to truly see the benefits. It’s not just about flexing with a bigger number, although that’s pretty cool too. OBVIOUSLY. It’s about activating the core mechanics of the Hive blockchain to generate passive income, and to build actual, long-term influence.
The “aha!” moment for me, and hopefully for you now, is realizing that Hive Power isn’t just about a slightly bigger upvote. That’s probably what you’re thinking, right? WRONG. It’s a mechanism that directly rewards your commitment and participation. And that built-in 13-week power down? It’s not an inconvenience, it’s your digital vault. Seriously. It gives you a massive window to react if anything ever went wrong. Your significant HIVE holdings, the ones generating your passive income, are safer powered up. Period.

I work on my own 5k, maybe I can reach 10k... My bigger goal is 1M latest at July 1st 2030. Do you have long-term goals too, beside 2025/2026? Which are yours?
My obsession is to get my numbers back up there :P
But to only do it through hard work and putting to together genuine, heart-felt writing about a myriad of topics.
I waant to wear my heart on my sleeve on this blockchain, and bring my whole-self to it, like I've tried to do over the years.
While I've powered down in the past, I'm entering an era of staking everything I earn, I just need to remember to set things to 100% powerup when I publish them, because I so often forget to do that.
I think I can manage to pile on another 1k HP through author awards alone before the end of the calendar year.

I noticed you on that recent Dalz report. It is nice to have another witness actively powering up and not just staying the same or powering down like many.
It's good to have a goal and I see that you're almost there which is your 200k hp. It's good time to build hp because price is low and may be later this opportunity doesn't exist. You never know.
