RE: PowerUp πŸ’ͺ April - FOols? NOT! - this is REAL πŸ’ͺ🀩😎

Would be nice to have a distinct value between boosting my own content and other content. Say, the current 500 points for people's own content seems ok... but boosting others' content could be more... let's say 1000 points?

This would incentivise people to have more impact on others than themselves.

Just a thought...

Interesting thought experiment, don't you think some would abuse it by creating secondary account or use secondary account to boost?

Yes, but what prevents them to do that on their own accounts right now? Just like I did here...

I am apologetic for reducing on own accounts too...

One could also use reputation to enable higher point usage (up to a cap), meaning only high reputation accounts would be able to spend more points (they also have more to lose if they are trying to dissuade the community). And at the same time, use a boost limiter, (say, once per week) for the same account. To further limit the amount of secondary account boosting.

Nothing preventing, there is some much content we can review/evaluate per day, not always everybody gets boost. Also our curators try to separate out boosts so we don't want to look like favouriting someone over another. These are good suggestions, though we will discuss with team more.
