RE: A Word on "Hate Speech"

in #humanity7 years ago

I deliberately searched for one or more examples of "hate speech" and this is all I found so far:

I am going to kill Joe Blogs'!
Joe Blogs is [insert a bunch of false things here]!
Joe Blogs shouldn't be allowed to live here!
Joe Blogs deserves to die [with or without reasons attached]!

I fail to see that any of these statements have of necessity anything to do with Hate.

For example.
"I am going to kill Joe Blogs'! before he kills my brother which he is currently in the process of doing and law enforcement can't be contacted" .

"Joe Blogs is [insert a bunch of false things here]![is an astronaut who doesn't need oxygen to live]".

"Joe Blogs shouldn't be allowed to live here! because he's already murdered 50 children and has publicly threatened to murder more".

"Joe Blogs deserves to die [with or without reasons attached]!because he's already murdered 50 children (for which he has been found guilty in a court of law)and has publicly threatened to murder more children".

Is that Hate Speech?

Or
"I hate lemons because they make me feel ill".
or "I hate Joe Blogs because he raped and murdered me only child"

How about those?

While I congratulate you for your great success with this post I can only surmise that it is due to the gullibility or innocence or even ignorance of some of your readers.

I don't wish to insult or deride you or you article in any way but merely to have an intelligent discussion on this issue.

The truth is that 'Hate Speech' is nothing more than two words 'Hate' and 'Speech' which when put together have no recognised or accepted meaning in the English language.

It is simply a propaganda tool which is used as an excuse to censor free speech, by those who have something to hide on our current "long march to tyranny".
