The food we feed our animals is garbage and the cancer that our pets die of is our own damn fault sadly.
Animal food is full of corants and "e"s that increase the likelihood of our animals having cancer (I made a whole post about it like 2 years ago)... that plus the fact that inbreeding that happened generations ago also increased the likelihood of certain races having an increased likelihood of certain diseases is really bad for animals...(also made another post about this one, both for steemstem)
What your cat has is not unusual, I've seen it a couple of times when I studied Vet medicine, the new food should make everything better.
