Back to HIVE after hiatus

Before leaving the HIVE world

I have been active in HIVE ecosystem for the past few years before I just dropped it. I needed some time to think and focus on other things in my life and I did not have time for additional activities in the web world. When I left I have been active in a few HIVE based app and I have been playing around 7 games. I was working on becoming more regular with my writing but it was not much.

Where I am now?

So I have been back on the network for the past few days and I have notice some changes. Half of the games I have been playing are not there now. The rest, excluding one, looks exactly the same. No changes whatsoever.

I see some changes, as the introduction of the short messages, twitter style. I have seen a few new apps on hive.io as well.

Now I have started to looking at hive as the dying animal, maybe because the main activity for me was web3 gaming and blogs were only the addition. By to be honest I was going to write how I consider the network dead but the longer I am writing the more I think it is just different and it is me.

Sort:

I wouldn't say it's dead/dying, just activity is somewhat down and some projects are struggling to keep developing since they depended on the price of hive. I know our project @holozing for instance has been hit quite hard due to that and is quite in debt atm.

Hive's gone through these eras before many times, the strong dapps will survive while some just go into hibernation til greener times. Hive itself is more than fine imo and a lot is being worked on behind the scenes for the chain, there's a hardfork upgrade set for november for instance.

What games did u use to play that are gone now?

To be honest gone are only three (dcity, WOO, and spliterforge) but I have seen Immortal Kings going away recently as well. The rest looks exactly the same, which shows no dev work on them. I think I was expecting to see all the project going forward and being changed.

While zing looks the same on the website, I can tell you we've been working behind the scenes quite a lot and soon also feel comfortable enough to showcase what we've built as well! There's just been a lot of key missing things that made it hard for us to publicly display our progress, such as using a temporary environment rather than our own. This is now 95% done and we can start capturing clips and maybe even a teaser/trailer.

I'd keep a close eye on it in the near future :D

About others, don't know too much about them, I just know Woo is still alive!

I have seen that you have the release date soon so something has to move.

I have tried to paly it and it does not work so it might be alive but I decided to get rid of all its assets. I did the same with the Rising Star.
