The AERGO project aims to create an open cloud ecosystem for developers of decentralized applications and IT service providers. The AERGO system consists of three main components - AERGO CHAIN, AERGO HUB and AERGO Marketplace.
AERGO CHAIN is the main public chain of the AERGO platform, as well as a network of sidechains that rise to the needs of customer applications. It is based on the Blockchain Coinstack blockchain from Blocko, the main partner of the AERGO platform.
If we talk about the role of Blocko in the ecosystem of the platform, then according to information from an interview with CEO - at first Blocko plans to independently provide support for the main AERGO chain (pre-mining), and then provide paid (in network tokens) technical support to customers. In the future, AERGO will consider connecting capacities and services from other partners.
A key factor in the approach to the development of the main chain of AERGO (as well as the entire ecosystem) is the combination of technologies from the blockchain world and time-tested solutions from the "classical" IT fields. Such as directory service, distributed version control system (GiT), parallel access control, parallel programming model and so on. Such solutions, in particular, help to solve the problem of scalability, interaction with a distributed file system, performance and efficiency of the nodes, as well as implement such interesting, for distributed registries, features like the possibility of branching and merging.
One of the coolest features of the project is the development of its own virtual machine (most likely based on EVM) and a new SQL-like programming language. EVM with Solidity is also supported.
The consensus protocol of the main chain was dPoS (I hate fucking EOS). But it is assumed that in the future the customer will be able to choose the consensus protocol in the sidechain, if he does not want his application to work on the AERGO main circuit (which is quite a difficult and ambitious task for the AERGO team).
An ecosystem is also developing its own distributed file system. It is worth noting that the method of storage in this system will be different from IPFS, where the files are stored broken into many pieces, and will be similar to Facebook Haystack.
AERGO HUB - is positioned as a public interface through which customers can access all the necessary resources for dApp, by the type of existing cloud web services (like Amazon Web Services).
Companies that plan to provide their resources and technical support in the AERGO ecosystem should become nodes. To do this, use a special open framework for interaction with the system - AERGO Horde.
Such companies can become qualified partners of the AERGO platform and engage in the support, management, and customization of side chains to the requirements of the customer.
Also, through the AERGO HUB interface, suppliers get access to the AERGO Marketplace to post their offers there.
Developers can create and work with open or closed repositories (as in GitHub) via the AERGO HUB interface. Also in AERGO HUB they can select the necessary settings for the blockchain for their dApps (private/public/hybrid solution, consensus protocol, permissions, etc.), and also make changes to some settings of the blockchain without stopping it (number of nodes, permissions, etc.). ). Through the AERGO HUB interface, developers get access to the AERGO Marketplace, where they can order the necessary resources for their dApp to work.
