The internet has become a thriving ground for scam and/or fraud for a long while now, even more so since the evolution of crypto and the Blockchain technology. This is the major problem which the crypto world suffers. Unfortunately, in all the cases that I know of the culprits could not be traced based on the way the system is structured and thanks to the advent of new technologies. Since 2012, Bitcoins for example has been a juicy target for hackers. In 2014, the world’s leading Bitcoin exchange as at then was caught up in a financial fiasco; cyber thieves hacked into their system and made away with 850,000 bitcoins worth $450 million (in 2014) and this eventually lead to the collapse of Mt. Gox exchange. Fraud has become a constant danger and it is so not good for crypto adoption. So you’re probably wondering by now if this dire situation will ever come to an end. Well, with so much adrenaline and enthusiasm, I’m more that glad to announce to you that an innovative solution is finally here; and that solution is in the name of CRYPTOPOLICE.

CryptoPolice is a platform that helps bring together the community in order to fight cyber crime. CryptoPolice is a community-driven initiative, developed to reduce the tension of scam/fraud in the crypto community; any and every user online actually have access to submit an application to CryptoPolice, if and when they notice or suspect any fraudulent activity and/or attempt. After which an Officer acts on the report and delivers a verdict, which must have passed through various stages of verification process by other Officers. And then verified and confirmed data gets stored in an archive, to create a basis for the scam notification system (WatchDog).
Who is an Officer? Officers are group of experts who have received training and education on detecting fraud, and eventually certified in the CryptoPolice Academy. And you too can also be that person. Some of the scams to look out for include fake ICOs, airdrop scams, phishing, fake wallets etc.
