How To Become an Early-Bird Investor in the Hash Rush Cryptocurrency Game in 3 Steps

in #ico7 years ago

In just a few hours, the Hash Rush Pre-ICO will start.

From 15 August 10pm UTC to 1 September 12.01pm UTC you can be the first investor in Hash Rush and get perks such as:

  • Beta access to the Hash Rush game
  • Extra Rush Coins (a bonus of 25%!)
  • And much more.

We have introduced our Pre-ICO in another article, but haven’t explained yet how you actually participate in the Pre-ICO, which we will do here in 3 Steps.

Most of you will know how to set up an Ethereum Wallet (Step 1), and purchase ETH (Step 2). In that case, you can immediately skip to Step 3.

But if you aren’t familiar with cryptocurrencies but do want to participate in the Hash Rush Pre-ICO, simply start at Step 1.

Step 1: Setting up your Ethereum Wallet

As you might know, you can invest in our Pre-ICO and ICO using Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin (BTC), Qtum (QTUM) or Ethereum Classic (ETC). But whatever cryptocurrency you prefer, you will require an Ethereum Wallet (that supports ERC-20 tokens) in order to receive the Rush Coin token that you get when participating in the Pre-ICO or ICO.

That is why you will first need to set up this Ethereum wallet. While there are many platforms available to create an Ethereum wallet, many of these do not allow you to store new ERC-20 tokens such as Rush Coin.

We therefore recommend using one of the following:

Though you can use any of these three, we will show you how to create a wallet on the MyEtherWallet website, which is a simple process.

Disclaimer: While MyEtherWallet works well for many crypto-investors, you yourself are ultimately responsible for the actions you take, including setting up an Ethereum wallet. Therefore we recommend you to read more about Ethereum wallets and to not only rely on this article for your information.

Creating a MyEtherWallet wallet

Start by going to the MyEtherWallet website. The first thing you see is Create New Wallet.

Create a Wallet

Simply fill in a unique password, remember this by heart, and press ‘Create New Wallet’.

Saving your Keystore file

Now, save your Keystore File. Click ‘Download Keystore File’, and save the file on a location on your computer or on a USB hard drive (for extra security). After you have saved the file (triple-check this!), click the Continue button.

Saving your private key

You should now be presented with your Private Key. Write your Private Key down or print it, in order to create a Paper Wallet. If you want to keep your wallet secure, please take heed of all the warnings presented on these pages!

Unlock your wallet

As you can see, there are multiple ways of accessing your wallet, but for clarity’s sake, we’ll go with the Private Key option. Simply paste or type your private key and click ‘Unlock’.

Your Ether Wallet

Now you get a full view of your Ethereum Wallet. If you haven’t done so already, write down both your address and private key (in a separate place) or print your paper wallet.

And that’s it! You are now the proud owner of an Ethereum wallet. If you want to access your wallet again, go to www.myetherwallet.com and click on ‘View Wallet Info’ in the top right corner.

Step 2: Purchasing your First ETH

Note that if you want to participate in the Pre-ICO using BTC, QTUM or ETC, you can skip this step.

Now you can actually start using your wallet. In order to fill your wallet with the required Ether, you need a cryptocurrency exchange.

There are many cryptocurrency exchanges you can use, such as Coinbase, Kraken, Bitfinex, Bittrex, and many more.

Some of these allow you to trade fiat currency (e.g. $ or €) for ETH directly, while others only allow you to exchange BTC (or a different cryptocurrency) to ETH. Note also that these exchanges use different exchange rates: some might be more favorable to you than others.

We will not go into detail about which exchange is the best fit for you. Instead, we’ll show you the easiest way to purchase ETH and receive it on the wallet you just created. Note again that this is the easiest way to do it, but may not be the cheapest or best way for you.

The easiest way to purchase ETH is by going to your MyEtherWallet-wallet and clicking on the Coinbase widget you see when you log in.

The Coinbase Widget

Coinbase is one of the major cryptocurrency exchanges, and this widget allows you to easily purchase ETH and send it to your wallet.

The process to buy ETH using this widget is very easy and we won’t get into detail how to use it here. But simply click the widget, and follow the steps.

This includes filling in your name, the amount of ETH you need—if you want to participate in the Hash Rush Pre-ICO, you will need a minimum of 50 ETH—, your email address and your phone number.

Alternatively, you can choose to purchase Ether through any cryptocurrency exchange that supports ETH—luckily, almost all exchanges do. Simply send the currency of your choice to the exchange of your choice and exchange it for ETH. If you do not know how to do this, use a Google query such as: “How to buy ETH on Kraken”, where you can substitute ‘Kraken’ for the exchange you prefer. In this case, don’t forget to send the ETH you have purchased to your MyEtherWallet wallet.

Step 3: Sending ETH, ETC, QTUM or BTC to the Hash Rush Pre-ICO

Whether you already had a wallet full of cryptocurrency, or have just recently created one using the first two Steps in this article, you are now ready to participate in the Hash Rush Pre-ICO.

In order to become an early-bird investor in Hash Rush, first go to the Hash Rush Pre-ICO website: http://ico.hashrush.com

Slowly read through all information, pay extra attention to our Terms & Conditions, and of course agree to our T&C.

Choose the cryptocurrency you want to invest with

After agreeing, pick the cryptocurrency you will use to invest with in the Hash Rush project. As you can see, you can choose either Ethereum (ETH), Ethereum Classic (ETC), Bitcoin (BTC), or Qtum (QTUM). As you might remember, the minimum entry threshold is 5 BTC, 50 ETH, 1000 ETC, or 1000 QTUM.

At this point, you will be shown the address you should send your funds to. Now simply fill in your email address (if required), send the funds, and that’s it!

You are now one of the very few early-bird investors in Hash Rush!

Congratulations and good luck with the wait! As a reminder, on 1 December 2017, a smart contract will automatically release the Rush Coin you purchased during the Pre-ICO (or ICO) phase to your Ethereum wallet.

For now, please let us know if you have any questions or comments. We look forward to your participation.

Congratulations on the successful pre-ICO launch, @nume!

For those interested, I have just published an interview with the project leads:
https://steemit.com/gaming/@badastroza/interesting-people-15-kristaps-vaivods-and-maris-ziedonis-on-hash-rush

More details about the game and a bit more about the ICO in there as well.

does it have sense?:)

Not sure what you mean @twosmileed :) Could you clarify your question?

Note that if you want to read more about the Pre-ICO or the Hash Rush game, take a look at:

and: https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@nume/a-look-into-the-hash-rush-game

So... what's the min Rushcoin buy amount for the pre-ICO for each person?

Hi @angusleun100, thanks for your question. The minimum entry threshold to join the Pre-ICO is 5 BTC, 50 ETH, 1000 ETC, or 1000 QTUM.

If you choose to participate with BTC, ETC or QTUM, then your currency is converted to ETH at the time you send in your funds.
The initial conversion rate is 1000 Rush Coin for every 1 ETH—so that means the minimum Rush Coin amount you can buy is around 50,000 (depending slightly on exchange rates if you choose to participate with a non-ETH currency).

Hope that makes sense :) Let us know if you have any other questions.
