I just thought I'd give you an update. I was out at my parents last weekend and looked in the original history book for Jarvie. I only have volume 2, my parents have the first book. It actually said that Jarvie was originally named Jarvis but the post office didn't want to confuse the town with another town named Jarvis in eastern Canada so they renamed our town Jarvie to differentiate between the two. We still ended up with your name but not quite how I thought.
It would be great if you made your way up but don't get your hopes up too much. It's a cool little town but it's far from a travel destination. It's a pretty average little prairie town. I'd feel bad if you made a special trip thinking there'd be lots to see. It's mostly just a collection of houses built close to the railroad tracks. I have some special feelings for the place because I grew up there but it's not a lot different from any other small prairie town.
Haha k
If I'm in edmonton which is likely it isnt tpo far right?
It's 150 km north of Edmonton, about an hour and a half drive. It's not a crazy distance but I've been driving it most of my life so it just seems normal to me.
