Creating paths.

"As the river makes its own riverbed, so every legitimate idea makes its own paths and conduits."

Emerson

In most of the things that I have observed, disruptive ideas, those that disrupt the world and create new realities, do not necessarily reach a world or a reality that is ready to receive them. On the contrary, these transgressive ideas are presented against any prevailing current and are like a spring born after an earthquake, that is, without a previously defined channel, they have to begin to flow, to find their own way in the world now. throughout its existence to erode the obstacles to create its own channel.

None of this is simple, neither for the ideas nor for the people who support them. Reality is very reactive to changes and humans, even when we are aware that nothing is as constant as change, we fiercely resist things that dramatically transform the reality in which we live, even when the new reality may have notable advantages once we stop fighting her.

This quote brings back memories of the song created from a certain poem, in which the Iberian singer said "Walker, there is no path, the path is made by walking." (In original: "Caminante, no hay camino, se hace camino al andar.") Well, I certainly believe that the Emerson quote expresses the same thing, but in a somewhat more symbolic way.
