In Islamabad, the former Prime Minister and creator of the PTI, Imran Khan, leveled accusations on Monday, claiming that Nawaz Sharif, the leader of PML-N, had been benefiting from the favoritism of "two umpires," with one recently making a controversial decision in his favor.
Addressing the media at Adiala Jail following a session of the Toshakhana case, Khan suggested that the recent political maneuvers that had marginalized his party, PTI, and offered leniency to Nawaz Sharif were elements of the so-called London Plan.
Despite this, Khan held onto the belief that the electorate would express their dissent towards the perceived inequities faced by him and his party through their votes on February 8 in the upcoming elections.
The former leader reflected on his 27-year political journey, emphasizing the substantial public support for his party, which he anticipated would be evident on February 8.
Khan voiced his grievances, asserting he was being targeted for calling out the alleged scheme orchestrated by the ex-army chief, Qamar Javed Bajwa, against his administration.
He further argued that the legal matter concerning PTI's electoral symbol deserved the attention of at least a five-judge bench.
Khan pointed out that Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz also acquired vehicles from Toshakhana at minimal costs, yet seemed to be exempt from the legal scrutiny that he was continuously subjected to.
Regarding the issue of party tickets, Khan disclosed that his attorneys were hindered from bringing necessary paperwork into the jail, preventing him from evaluating the potential candidates.
Subsequently, Gohar Ali Khan, the former PTI chairman, spoke with journalists outside Adiala Jail, announcing that the party intended to file a review petition against the Supreme Court's affirmation of the Election Commission of Pakistan's decision to revoke PTI's 'bat' symbol.
Gohar contended that this ruling impinged upon the fundamental rights of Pakistani citizens and declared it a significant setback for democracy, potentially inciting a resurgence of corruption.
He revealed that PTI would disseminate a roster of its candidates and their respective electoral symbols across social media channels. Gohar expressed satisfaction with the ongoing probe concerning the recent search at his home.
