India on Monday banned 59 mobile applications linked to China and asked phone companies to block them.
The request came fourteen days after the savage go head to head among Indian and Chinese soldiers at the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh's Galwan Valley.
The Service of Data Innovation, summoning it's capacity under area 69A of the Data Innovation Act read with the applicable arrangements of the Data Innovation Rules 2009 and taking into account the emanant idea of dangers has chosen to square 59 applications since considering data accessible they are occupied with exercises which is biased to sway and respectability of India, protection of India, security of state and open request," an administration request gave late on Monday evening said.Among them are TikTok, WeChat, Weibo, Baidu Guide and Xender.
A top official said the government had considered all aspects before taking the decision. “These apps have been there for a long time, and there are some privacy and security issues with them including risks of data going out of the country,” said the person.
The statement from the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) said it had received complaints from various sources, including several reports about the misuse of some mobile apps for stealing and surreptitiously transmitting users ..
