A statue of Lord Gautam Buddha was erected in Sikkim to mark the 2250th birth anniversary of Lord Gautam Buddha.
The construction of the statue began in the year 2006 and was completed in the year 2013, it features the height about 130 foot tall, 40(metres)
After the completion of this park, it was named as Buddha Park, which is also known as Tathagata Tsal among locals in sikkim.
The statue was then consecrated by the 14th dalai lama on 25th march 2013
The govt of sikkim and the people contributed a major role in building this Park, it has now become a hotspot for tourist destination in sikkim.
