Dear Steemians.

A Muslim who believes in Allah and the last day will believe in the obligation to glorify a guest so that he will place it according to his position. This is as the words of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam,

"He who believeth in Allah and the Last Day should let him glorify his guest." (Narrated by Bukhari)

The following is a adab-adab pertaining to guests and guests. We share this discussion in two parts, namely adab for the host and adab for guests.

  • When inviting a person, should invite the righteous, not the fajir (hopefully in sin), as the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam,

"Do not be friends but with a believer, and do not eat your food but who is righteous!" (Narrated by Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi)

  • Unspecialized invite the rich only, without inviting the poor, based on the word of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam,

"The ugly food is the food of the walimah where rich people are invited and the poor are abandoned." (Narrated by Bukhari Muslim)

  • Not inviting a person known to be burdensome if invited.

  • Being addressed to welcome guests as the hadith narrated from Ibn Abbas radhiyallahu 'anhu, that when the messenger of Abi Qais came to the Prophet sallallaahu' alaihi wa sallam, he said,

"Welcome to the messengers who came without humiliation and regret." (Narrated by Bukhari)

  • Respect guests and provide meals for food guests at their own pace. However, do your best to provide the best food. Allah ta'ala has said that tells the Prophet Ibrahim 'alaihis salam with his guests:

فراغ إلى أهله فجاء بعجل سمين. فقربه إليهم قال آلا تأكلون

"And Ibrahim came to his family with fat beef and then brought the food to them (Ibrahim-ed's guests) and said: 'Did not you eat?'" (Surah Adz-Dzariyat: 26-27)
