Did you know that the Forest Zone in Aceh Province according to Minister of Forestry Decree No: 170 / Kpts-II / 2000 dated June 29, 2000 on the Appointment of Forest Area and Waters of Aceh Province is 3,549,813 Ha, while the forest land area reaches 3,335,613 Ha. The forest area includes; Conservation Forest of 1,066,733 Ha, Protected Forest of 1.844.500 Ha, Limited Production Forest of 37.300 Ha and Permanent Production Forest of 601,280 Ha.
Whereas 51.96% of forest area (land) in Aceh Province is protected forest, 30.05% of conservation forest, 16.94% of permanent production forest, and 1.05% are limited production forest. Forest areas and other areas of use in Aceh Province are located in 15 (fifteen) Watershed Management Areas (SWP DAS) with a total area of 5,730,547 hectares, in accordance with Kepmenhut no. 284 / Kpts-II / 1999.
