OMG!  I so loathe those "smart" (very dumb!!!) meters!

Whatever you do, don't buil a concrete slab to hold in place the structure of all that instead of directly on the wall. And also don't cut into the pipe and pull out wires before they reach the meter and run them into your house on its own circuit breaker with it's own relay system so that if they come and remove the meter and check if your stealing energy it won't show. All perfectly hidden within the concrete and stuff. Yeah don't that ;)
