The Evolution of Information

in #information2 years ago (edited)

I've been thinking about something obvious but not obvious Like, fascinating how platforms full of trash content such as YouTube are also an incredible source of information You just type in how to do x and there's solution to everything And it all developed in the last 20 years, nothing that easy was available ever before And what's even better? Wikipedia. Download the Wikipedia app guys. It's got an article of the day and random site, it's so good for doomscrolling as it is at least halfway productive. It is incredible, been consistently using it for years now. You have top articles you can read there. Don’t like them? No biggie, you have a literal randomizer button to shuffle articles, and then you got more articles based on events and places. Another app that has been helpful lately.
Ground news. Shows you what ideology each news source leans to and what they decided to title it as, Makes things feel a little bit more clear rather than cloud your opinion with garbage. I never sit through ads or pay my way out of ads : on PC I use youtube with an adblocker. For supporting the artists I want to support, I can buy merch or physical copies or digital files of their music in a way that you know most of the money will go to them.
